Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

Hi we were looking at this cruise as well what cat room did you book and how much was it for the 3 of you?

SasserO5, I know this wasn't directed at me, but I was on the boards. I thought that I could help.

There are three in our party : two adults and one child. We have a Cat 7 (navigator's verandah). We got the whole package deal: airfare, insurance, one night at the Hyatt, and ground transportation. The grand total was just over $12,000.

Wow! Those two extra kids of mine are EXPENSIVE!!!!! :headache:

:lmao:

Today was Grace's 3rd birthday. She's finally old enough for the kids' club! Yipppeeeeee!!!!!:cool1: But my last baby isn't a baby anymore...:sad1:

340 days!! :thumbsup2

The cold weather finally snapped.. got above single digits..:cool1: Back to normal this week with temps in the 40's

Diet... :scared1: I haven't lost the 7lbs I gained on the last cruise... popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:: DW says I'm :crazy2: but I feel it.

Are we going to do the fish extender thing??? On the NYE 2009/2010 cruise we didn't see one fish extender and no one wanted to sign up. I think we are up for it this year, we pray to have our daughter by then and Im sure a 4 year old would love it... DS10/11 (his bday is on the cruise):bday: is all about kids club.. :3dglasses and could care less about FE.

Oh well,,, back to work.. Happy Monday everyone... :surfweb:

.

Sorry that I have been missing in action. Getting through the holidays and all of the kids activities, I feel like I have not had the time to sit at the computer.

Home today with a sick little boy. However, bonus for me because I get to play on the computer. :cool1:

I will update the front page with new families to the group. Please let me know if I missed anyone.

Got our water bill and it was :scared1:! Found out we had a leak causing us to use 58000 gallons of water in 3 months. So had to call a plummer (have not received that bill yet):scared1: Then got the electric bill. :scared1: Needless to say I went through a couple of days of "there is no way I can save for this cruise". But we are going to do our best and keep pushing forward. Hope for a good tax return to take off the pressure. And there is always that lottery that I think I will win someday. :rotfl2:

Welcome SwimMama! This is going to be a great cruise - and a great group of people cruising! I will add your info to page 1 link.

Hi Everyone!

It looks like I might have just convinced my parents to join us on this cruise!!!!:cool1: They like to cruise, but are not huge Disneyphiles. Of course, I bribed them with Christmas with the grandkids...Since we live in Africa and they live in Texas, they don't get to see each other very often.

They haven't booked yet, but I've got my fingers crossed.

I'll have to order them a Fish Extender.... :rolleyes1

That would be wonderful! My parents are booked on this cruise with us too, but they are thinking about cancelling. They are doing DCL northern Europe this summer, and they also booked Panama on the Wonder in January. I think if they have to cancel one, this is the one they would do. :sad2: I will have to play the grandkid card on them. Just kidding mom if you are reading this. :thumbsup2

I forget if we discussed this before. But is anyone planning a stay at WDW before or after the cruise? We're planning one week before, staying at Shades of Green. At about 18 total days, this will be by far our longest Disney vacation.

If others are staying before the cruise we could try to plan a meet somewhere around WDW.

We will not be. I am waiting for the school calendar to come out to see how many days the kids are missing as is. We will fly down the night before, probably stay at my parents house or stay at a hotel at the port.

2 - 2 1/2 more feet of snow. This is the worst winter in a long time, and it is not even over yet. Expecting more snow Wednesday. :scared1:

Disney...take me away!!!!

Little jealous - no chance of the white stuff here.

But I'm consoling myself by taking our two older girls to Tanzania for a safari on the Serengeti during calving season! :woohoo:

Leaving for the airport in 10 minutes.

(Poor DH has to stay behind though - so feel sorry for him. :sad1:)

Welcome aboard. We are also counting the days until we cruise with Mickey and friends. It is going to be a magical adventure.

The weather in SoCal has been cold and damp. A few weeks ago, it rained so hard that Disneyland closed early. Main Street flooded! But the sun did come out today. We are looking at temps in the high 70's/low 80's. It is a shorts and t-shirt President's Day weekend. My thoughts are with all of you, who are digging out of the snow.

I have been looking at a few ports: Guadaloupe and Barbados. The beaches of Guadaloupe look spectacular. I am excited that we may have the opportunity to explore a black sand beach. I also did a bit of online research on Harrison’s cave in Barbados. It appears to be beautiful, but I do not know if I would feel claustrophobic exploring the caverns. They may turn beautiful into ugly real quick. I cannot wait until Disney posts their excursions on their website.

We did get our FE. It is very cute. We decided not to get a holiday themed extender so we may use it on future cruises. I like the Cop Mickey. Also, my mom, the arts and crafty one of the family, has already purchased items to make the FE gifts.

In regards to staying at WDW, that is a no for us. It fits perfectly with our school calendar (gives us a few days to relax before we have to go back to school), and with our family's 2010 plans, my DH will just have enough vacation time to cover only the cruise.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everybody has a day full of love and happiness with their family and friends.

Things that I am looking forward to: Give a Day. Get a Day; Rent; the figure skating competition at the Olympics; my dad’s 70th birthday party, and Tim Burton’s Alice and Wonderland
