Does anyone on the thread have a Cat 1, 2 or 3?

Just curious if anyone has one or is on the wait list??

:surfweb:

Oh,, and if the good Lord is willing... our daughter will be with us! We are adopting a little girl 3 yo from Russia. Hope to have her home Feb 2010.. which means her first Christmas will be DCL 2010

So we will be a family of 4...

.

Welcome aboard! Sending positive thoughts your way, as well as a little bit of pixie dust that your daughter is home soon.
I can only dream of cruising in a Cat 1-2-3.

I found this on the Cruise Line Forum . . .:santa:

Just received this email poem....

'Twas the night before Christmas, and far out at sea

Our vessel was sailing, as smooth as could be

The stockings were hung from the balcony chairs

With hope that St. Nicholas soon would be there

The children were nestled all snug in their uppers

Having just settled down from a Christmas Eve supper

And ma and myself, we were covered in aloe

A bit too much sun, in a pool, warm and shallow

When up in the sky, there arose such a clatter

I leapt from my bed to see what was the matter

To the sliding glass door, I flew like a flash

Well, more like a saunter, and less like a dash

And what to my skeptical eyes should appear

But a great shiny sleigh, and eight flying reindeer

They circled our ship, from starboard to port

As the moon lit the driver, a jolly old sort

Who called to his team, in a happy retort

"Now Dasher, now Dancer," so on and so forth

We raced through our cabin and into the hall

To the very top deck, in time for us all

To be awed by the sight of Old Santa's sleigh

As he lightly touched down, by the midnight buffet

With a bundle of goodies thrown over his back

He rose in the air and dropped down the smokestack

Santa went straight to work, and later we learned

He found every child's cabin, from the bow to the stern

Insides and oceanviews, balconies and suites

Santa filled every stocking, with toys and with treats

Until all his deliveries had been handled with care

Then he noted he still had a minute to spare

So he surfed the wave rider, with nary a fall

While Dasher and Dancer scaled the rock-climbing wall

And Prancer, who had always been fond of the cold

Tried the ice-skating rink, a sight to behold

And then with a whistle, Santa summoned his team

And he bade us farewell, silent nights and sweet dreams

And I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of view

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good cruise.

Happy Holidays:rotfl::santa:

What will I be doing this time next year? Well, I do not plan on shoveling this horrible white stuff like I am now. UGH!

Drink of the day, sounds good to me. My drink of the day today is hot cocoa or coffee. LOL That will not be my drink of the day on the Magic, that is for sure!

Have yourselves a merry little Christmas.:santa:
I hope everybody has a peaceful and joyous holiday!!!!!!!:santa:

From us as well.... Happy Holidays Everyone!

So IceSk8ersmom - How did your surgery go? Well, I hope.

Jeff

Hello, everyone!

I'm so happy :yay: to join the group. My family (myself, DH, DS9, DS6 and DD2) will be on the 2010 Christmas cruise with you! This is our third Disney cruise, but the other two were both one week cruises. We're super-excited to try out a longer itinerary and to be onboard for the holidays. We also look forward to participating in any activities (fish extender, ornament exchange, etc) that come about and are excited to get to know everyone before we sail.

Happy New Year!
Vanessa :goodvibes

Welcome! My DS will be 9 on the cruise as well. I also have a DD who will be 13. Not much has been planned yet with this group, but I think things will pick up after the holiday.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I would like to wish everybody a very Happy New Year! Here is to 2010.

Cheers!pixiedust:pixiedust:

Dreamsoftravel: That white stuff, snow, is a strange concept to me. It is 60 degrees and sunny, and I am freezing!!!!

Monstro: The surgery went well. The stitches will be removed this Tuesday. Then I look forward to three months in tennis shoes and limited workouts. Thanks for asking. I appreciate it.

It is so nice to see the ticker countdown to be under the one year mark. :yay::yay:

There is so much to look forward to in 2010: my dad turns 70; DD gets her driving permit; DH and I celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary, and I get to plan and organize our little trip that we have planned at the end of the year.

Everybody have a safe and fun New Year's celebration!

Welcome aboard! It sounds like we are gathering an exciting group of DISers. It is great to see our group grow and grow. We have sailed on a longer itinerary before and had a blast, but this is our first Christmas cruise. That is just going to make the cruise so much more magical. I agree with Dreamsoftravel that the planning of DIS activities will get into full swing after the holidays. I look forward to getting to know you too. Talk to you soon.

Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

We've started the countdown and Joann has ordered the necessary supplies to start the Fish Extender madness! :thumbsup2

I just signed up for Give a Day, Get a Disney Day. We will be cleaning up a beach in February. I thought that we could use the ticket at WDW in December since we're Disneyland passholders. Unfortunately, the tickets will expire just before our trip, but it does not matter. It is giving back to the community that counts. :thumbsup2

I tried to sign up, but they did not have anything close. I really wanted to do something as a family, but the age requirements for the stuff near me was older then my kids. And when I see near me, they everything was an hour away. If it was something that the whole family could participate in that is one thing.

Upset that we could not pick local groups to volunteer with. Many great organizations here in my area. We are a small town, so maybe that is why we have to go to Baltimore.??

We participated in FE on our last cruise. That was crazy (and fun) running around handing out gifts. Problem we had was some cabins on the list did not have FE and some rooms that were not on the list had FE. All worked out and put them in all of the ones we saw. Just hope we did not miss any if someone changed rooms.

I have not thought about FE on this cruise. What to do, what to do?:rotfl:

:confused3Back to reality!...

Got home from Orlando Sat night after the NYE 7 night Christmas Cruise... :thumbsup2

I will say this, it was not like the years before when we were actually on the cruise on Christmas Day... NYE was cool off the coast of Miami shooting fireworks, but we are looking forward to 2010..:santa:

Our stateroom is now booked.. thank goodness for the 10% :scared1:

Was kinda surprised that there wasn't anything special (Christmas Cruise) for 2011. The Wonder will be over in California... but then you don't get CC..

Anyway.. 347 days.. til we go!

Back to work everyone! Holidays are over...:scared:

Well, I guarantee there's nothing even on our CONTINENT! Oh well! :confused3

After too much snow, and very cold days, I was able to convince DH to book this years 11-day holiday cruise!

So just popping over to say hi. Looking forward to hearing about everyone's plans. I've already started to second guess restaurant/menu days!! Trying to work out when to get that Palo meal (and brunch - fingers crossed) Can't wait to see what excursions pop up.

Enjoyed our Christmas cruise a few years back, and very happy to see that Christmas day is at sea. I didn't enjoy being docked and everyone rushing around for excursions. I like a lazy Christmas day!

By the way, it's me, my DH and my DS10.

Welcome ReggieB! It is great to have you and your family aboard with us. I too am tossing plans around in my head. We have plenty of time to make and share plans. I really enjoy the planning stage of my vacations. They are so fun!

Hi we were looking at this cruise as well what cat room did you book and how much was it for the 3 of you?

Okay, it has been back to the real world for me. I know how you feel HFC 1969. No, more leisure days recovering on my couch; now, I am back to school. Hobbling around a middle school campus with a cane has not been the most positive experience in my life. But the Doc said that I should be in high heels by the cruise.:woohoo:

Yes, I officially purchased some things for the cruise. I bought a new fish extender on eBay. I also took advantage of the after Christmas sales and purchased a cocktail dress. Okay...I know a bit too early, but I needed a new fish extender because I misplaced the old one after our last cruise, and next year it will be too late to take advantage of the after Christmas sales. Does anybody see my logic? My DH does not. Oh, I forgot I purchased a huge storage tub to store these purchases and any future purchases. I had to buy the tub because where was I going to put everything.

I can feel it already. This is going to be an exciting year of planning and organizing for the merriest cruise of all. Did I mention dieting??????

Things that I am looking forward to: Three 3-day weekends over the next two months (love Martin and those Presidents); Valentine's Day with my sweetheart; Disney's Give a Day, and seeing RENT.

Talk with you all soon.
