Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

OK, I'm checking in. I'm DH to Joann (3PrincessMommy.) We're all excited about this cruise, although I was a little heartbroken when our DD8 came to the realization that the Christmas cruise was not happening this year, and that in fact she had to wait a whole other year for it. She looked so confused and sad, but I think she's over it now.

I have a list started on this thread, but I know I have a couple of people to update. Just need to go back and find information.

I wish I knew how to do websites. We had that on our last cruise, along with a weekly live chat site. It was great and we really felt like we knew each other before the cruise.

If someone can do a website I think that would be great. Along with a cruise graphic that maybe we can make shirts and magnets with??

I don't know about setting up a website, but I started playing with a graphic for our group. Nothing fancy. I'll try to post it soon.

Hello Everyone:

Last Christmas, I booked this cruise as a Christmas present to my husband and three little girls. We could only get a category 4 at the time but last week we got an exciting phone call from DCL saying that they now have a category 3 cabin available. They gave us two hours to decide whether or not we wanted it. We ended up taking it. Were a little reluctant at first because apparently you can't cancel and get your deposit back on suites. Didn't know that. I guess we are definitely going now. Anyhow we are very excited to be cruising on the Disney Magic once again. We do have two other cruises before this one but they are all very exciting to us because we are so hooked on cruising.

I'm wondering if you are still around, Disney Rocks. I've noticed that you are booked on both this and the July 26, 2011, Alaska cruise on the Wonder. 3PrincessMommy and I are also booked on both cruises.

I also noticed from your signature that our paths have very nearly crossed in the past. We were in Disneyland Paris in summer 2007 just a month ahead of you, and did WDW and a cruise in May-June 2008, just after you did your WDW-Panama Canal-DLCA trip. It truly is a small DIS.

Now I'm very curious how old your girls are. Ours will be 9, 7, and 4 for this Christmas cruise.

I don't know about trademark infringment issues, but this was a quick thing I put together. Let me know if you have any suggestions or other ideas. I can tweak it or completely redo it.

I love the graphic! Not sure about trademark. Everyone seems to make graphics, not sure if they get some kind of permission first. I will find out. But I LOVEEEEE this! I see t-shirts and magnets and other cool things in our near future!!!!

WOW! It's great!

Hi - I'm Kidcoos3. There are 5 of us traveling - DH Tom, Leslie (that's me!), DD Katie who will be 19, DS Andy who will be 17 and DS Cole who will be 16. We booked this trip during our spring break cruise in March. This will be our 4th Disney cruise. Our daughter is doing the Disney College Program this next spring (Feb 1 - Aug 13) so we'll probably head down during spring break to visit her. :cool1: Other than that, no big vacation plans til the cruise - we can't wait!!

Welcome aboard, Kidcoos3!

I too really do not have any major vacations planned until this cruise.

I also have a teenager. She will be 15. Last cruise DD loved The Stack. She cannot wait to experience it again.

Please tell me more about the Disney College Program. I am very interested to hear more about it.

Look forward to getting to know you over the next 13 months.

Hi there everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself on the DISboards. I am the DH of Dreamsoftravel. As you can see I have much posting to do to catch up to her. Last two cruises she didn't let me have my own DISboard ID because she was afraid I would embarass her. Well now I have my own so let the fun begin. Had a blast just two weeks ago on our Magical Halloween cruise and can't wait til I'm aboard again. Christmas time is beautiful aboard the Magic and in the Carribean. For those who have done it before you know for those who haven't get ready to have your breath taken away. :santa:

I think that it is great having you join us on the DISboards. I have to get my DH posting too. Every time I mention the Disboards to him, he just scratches his head. Look forward to getting to know both you and your DW.

LOVE IT! It is fabulous.

It is not too Disney so my DH said he would even wear a shirt. I appreciate the time that it took for you to create it. Thanks a million.

:cool1:

Thanks everybody. Really it's not very complicated, so no problem at all.

Feel free to use it as you wish for the cruise. I'm not sure how to do shirts or anything, though.

Also, here's a smaller version if that one is too big and you want to use it in your signature.

So our itinerary changed. We will now be spending Christmas Day in St. Lucie. Not bad, I guess. I have been to St. Thomas, and I was looking forward to visiting again. Oh well, it is Christmas on a Disney cruise. It cannot get much better than that.

Where did you see that the itinerary changed? Everywhere I look, I see St Thomas instead of St Lucia. Except, that is, on the map linked from the official DCL 2010 Holiday Cruise page (http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/cruises-destinations/caribbean/itineraries/11-night-southern-caribbean-holiday-cruise/)
If you go to that page, and click the Map, it shows St Lucia. If you click on Itineraries, it shows St Thomas. It also shows St Thomas in the Ports of Call box.

So which is it?

The site is Wiki Based. Meaning anyone, given permission can edit, comment, add pictures or pages. There is no limit to the number of pages or comments we can have. Anything can be erased or added to at anytime. As Administrator of the Wiki page, I’ll be in charge of giving people permission to comment and edit the site. It will only be people involved with our cruise, unless any of you want any of your relatives to be able to participate. At any point we could restrict access to our site if we want to (our cruise group for example). To be able to comment or edit the site you need to sign up with your email address. This only comes to me. I’m not a marketer. I don’t collect email addresses for any monitary reason and I promise they will not go anywhere. I think it would be great fun to have group of us who edit and comment on the site. It certainly will help us get to know one another prior to our cruise. If you’d prefer not to comment or edit the site and rather I enter your information, I’d be glad to do it. PM me through the Dis.

I use one of these at work and I have one I use for my family. It works great in both cases.

I saw the change somewhere. Trying to find it. Maybe it was a typo and they changed it back?:confused3

We just got off the Wonder last wek and the ad they are using to promote the cruise has the itinerary that matches what I put on the web site I'm building. It also matches the Disney site which has us out to sea on Christmas Day... Yeah!

Any input on the site?

Site looks great! Thanks for starting that up. Still playing with the links now.

I know I was not seeing things with the change. My mom had called and said she noticed the change in itenerary and then I looked and saw the change. I remember thinking how cool St. Lucia would be, but I was also looking forward to a sea day for Christmas. Looks like it is back to St. Thomas again. Strange....

I read it on this thread. I did not see anything on the DCL website. I guess which one is the million dollar question.

Back to St. Thomas it is. I am happy about that because I too prefer a Sea Day on Christmas. While there is plenty of time for more changes, so where the Magic takes me I will be in paradise. I will be sailing on the the happiest ship of all with all of you.

Aaron,

The port information page you added to the site is great!

Thanks
Jeff

Thanks

I was scanning old film negatives today, and it takes a while in between each one. So I had some time to research the ports I've never been to. Joann saw me doing this, and wanted to make sure I knew that the cruise was still 13 months away. Guess I'm in denial.
