Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

The Dream is a dream. I cannot wait: 2010 sailing on the Disney Magic and 2011 sailing on the Disney Dream...Priceless!

We just have to get the Wonder to Hawaii.

Happy Halloween!

We're booked on this cruise. It appears everyone is on Facebook. I'm old fashion and haven't signed up on it yet. My teenager loves it! Anyways look forward to reading and hearing everything that will be going on.

It's me, DH, DD 16 and DD 13.

Welcome Aboard, Bakerteam!

Facebook was a new experience for me. Now, I am a frequent user. But at this time there is not much action on our Facebook site.

I too have a teenage daughter cruising with us. She will be 15 when we sail next Christmas. Talk to you soon

Welcome! My DD will be 13 on the cruise as well. Is your DD 13 now or will be 13?

She will be 13 when we sail. I see you did the 2007 Holiday Cruise. We did the 2006 Holiday Cruise. It was so much fun. We did an ornament exchange with all the people we meant on the Disboards. Everyone brought an ornament from their home state. I hope this will be arranged again this trip.

Look forward to meeting you!

An ornament exchange is a neat idea. How did you transport ornaments home without breaking them?

We will have to get the girls chatting before the cruise.

We each only brought 1 ornament. Then we did the swap similar to the Yankee Swap. Are you familiar with this?

That would be awesome to get our DD chatting!

Hi Everyone!

Just thought I'd introduce myself (DH - BigAWL will be along here at some point too). We booked this cruise during our last Magic cruise, but didn't really know if we'd be able to keep it. But now the girls are just getting so excited to do a Christmas cruise that I don't know how we could change without breaking their hearts.

So, I hope to get to know all of you very well. We had a fantastic Disgroup on our last cruise and I've definitely become a huge DIS Fan!

A little about us: We are in the Foreign Service and work for the U.S. Embassy in Kampala, Uganda. We have spent the last three years overseas in Africa, first in Burkina Faso (West Africa) and now in Uganda (East Africa). Both I and DH work for the Embassy. DH is originally from Virginia, and I'm a military brat.

We have three little girls: Caitie will be 9, Alex will just have turned 7, and Grace will be turning 4 on the cruise.

We also have two kitties: Sasha is 13 and Patches is 3. Because we are in Africa, we are taking advantage of the unusual environment to try our hands at raising our own eggs, so I expect our 5 hens to arrive any day now. If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears!

I need to update my ticker because we have transferred our transatlantic cruise to an Alaskan cruise in 2011. This Christmas cruise will be our 3rd Disney cruise, but DH and I have cruised other lines before the girls were born.

Well, that's the main stuff about us.

I saw you all are talking about an ornament exchange - what a great idea! Are we going to plan for a Fish Extender gift exchange too? We absolutely had a ball with that on our last two cruises.

Hope to hear from you all very soon!

Joann

Welcome aboard 3princessmommy ! It is going to be a Christmas to remember.
I too would love to participate in a Fish Extender gift exchange. That would be fabulous!

Happy Veteran's Day to all the vets on the DISboards especially my husband, my marine once always.

Booking a cruise on the Dream is so tempting, but I think we will wait and book when we are aboard next year. The onboard credit will be a bonus.

An ornament exchange, Fish Extender...I am in for all of it. I do not mind organizing or helping out. I have participated but never organized, so I will need some assistance. It is going to be an awesome cruise. What about a logo, DIS shirts? There is so much we can do because we have enough time to plan.

It is so exciting to see more DISers join our thread. We are growing! The more the merrier on Mickey's merriest cruise of all.

It is beginning to look like Christmas at Disneyland. It is so exciting to see all those decorations, and Sleeping Beauty's Castle looks like a winter wonderland dream.

Things that I am looking forward to: Thanksgiving vacation (one week off), holiday shopping season, watching "The Princess and the Frog", making tamales, and my foot surgery (high heels here I come).

Take care. Talk to you all soon.

Wow! It will actually be here before we know it!

Has anyone started putting together a list of fellow cruisers? Our last cruise we were lucky to find someone who put togehter a website. It was awesome!

I have a list started on this thread, but I know I have a couple of people to update. Just need to go back and find information.

I wish I knew how to do websites. We had that on our last cruise, along with a weekly live chat site. It was great and we really felt like we knew each other before the cruise.

If someone can do a website I think that would be great. Along with a cruise graphic that maybe we can make shirts and magnets with??

Hi - I'm Kidcoos3. There are 5 of us traveling - DH Tom, Leslie (that's me!), DD Katie who will be 19, DS Andy who will be 17 and DS Cole who will be 16. We booked this trip during our spring break cruise in March. This will be our 4th Disney cruise. Our daughter is doing the Disney College Program this next spring (Feb 1 - Aug 13) so we'll probably head down during spring break to visit her. :cool1: Other than that, no big vacation plans til the cruise - we can't wait!!

I have updated your info. Thank you!

Disney College program! Wow! Not sure what that is but I am sure it is something I wish I knew about in college. :rotfl:

We have no other plans between now and this cruise. I am 99% sure that I will be booking the Dream for 2011. I am not happy that the new ship is on 3, 4, or 5 night. I wish they would do at least a 7 night here and there.

Hi Dreamsoftravel, its you DH, we can do our under 57 week happy dance today. Only 56 weeks and 6 days until our next Disney Magic begins. YIPPEE:dance3::banana:

Hi there everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself on the DISboards. I am the DH of Dreamsoftravel. As you can see I have much posting to do to catch up to her. Last two cruises she didn't let me have my own DISboard ID because she was afraid I would embarass her. Well now I have my own so let the fun begin. Had a blast just two weeks ago on our Magical Halloween cruise and can't wait til I'm aboard again. Christmas time is beautiful aboard the Magic and in the Carribean. For those who have done it before you know for those who haven't get ready to have your breath taken away. :santa:

It is hard to believe that this cruise is still over a year away. We were having second thoughts about taking this cruise since we had hoped to have my son's family and our darling granddaughters with us, but they cancelled. Then again, I do enjoy being with my wife (Lucky Penny) so I think we will keep our booking. :)
Looking forward to meeting you all.
