Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

Well Dr Amy is 36 & Im 41,,, but we try to go most evenings... Gotta get places for the kids..

I'm hoping to get out to the clubs this trip! On the Med cruise we were WAY too tired to do ANYTHING but crash after late dinner! :rotfl2:

I will be 40 in 7 days (but who's counting...?) and DH is a couple years ahead of me, but we REALLY try to stay up late now and then......Would be nice to have playmates! :)

See that's what I'm basing my opinion on. I was so dead tired on the Med cruise that I was just about able to crawl my way to my cabin after late dinner.:rotfl2: My daughter on the other hand was able to go straight out with some of our tablemates. We won't be at the giant table this time with singles and newlyweds since we are going with the family. Sounds like there will be a few party people in our group. I'm going to try this time to get out after dinner. My husband is a goner. He's asleep by 9 pm so late dining is a killer for him. Straight to bed sometimes before dessert.
I'm making a little list so I can give it to my daughter. :)

OK I have 2 requests:

1. My daughter (27) is asking if there is anyone over 21 who will be going to Rockin Bar D or any of the other night time entertainment. She's not big on drinking but she still like to go. I'm usually too tired. :cloud9: She'd like to get in a crowd who likes to have fun and dance. Anyone in their 20-30's who can stay up past 11pm?
:rotfl:

I'm a little over the 20-30's crowd(okay who am I kidding - a lot over the 20-30's crowd:rotfl2:) but I like to go to the adults events at night. I love to dance. I also have a DD (21) and her boyfriend (22) who like to attend the night time entertainment too. We do like to have a few drinks but mostly we just like to have fun. We are on late dinning.

It is getting closer and closer. I have almost everything packed. I told my husband about the drink holder and he thought what a great idea. So, I guess I need to go get the drink holder at Starbucks. I am going to need to get my own airplane for all the items I am bringing. I have one huge suitcase with FE gifts.
Time for bed and another day of teaching. Good thing is that it means only 7 more days of school. I am kind of sad that I will not be at school on Friday to see my students before Christmas.

How is everyone feeling this week?

I have one more day here, then a day in London for a meeting (hoping to have time to visit Harrods to find a cool ornament for the exchange!)...and then home to Canada for five days before the flight to MCO...the suspense is killing me...I actually get heartburn if I think about it too much:guilty:

BTW, if anyone is wondering, the bad weather being reported on in the UK is actually pretty tame, but this is coming from a Canadian, so probably not much merit! As long as my flight leaves on time, I'm happy!

AHH Harrods  they have Harrods shops in the airport too, which you would think have ornaments now.

Kitster--thanks so much for the heads up...you were exactly right. No ME for us. So, ten days out and my plans are completely scuttled. TA has cancelled my ME AND my Pop Century resort stay (even though I told her NOT to cancel til I figured out a better way. Ugh). The option now is to get a limo service from MCO/US/Port/MCO for about $30 more, which is okay. The kicker is, if I stay at Universal on-site, which would be easiest, it is over $100 more a night than Pop Century.

She is suggesting staying at MCO Hyatt (which I'm sure I've missed on Hotwire), going to US, coming back to MCO, then to port and back but that just seems like ALOT of back and forth. I'm trying to save hubby from handling a bunch of bags (which is why I opted for ME to begin with) and making it as anxiety-free as I can before we get on board.

I'm up for suggestions.

I have not been following all the details, but the Hyatt Grand Cypress and a rent car from the airport were both very reasonable.

My single friend in her mid 30's went to a scheduled singles event Disney had, I think it was in the navigator. She went to it at the beginning of the cruise. She liked it and went to something else they had as well. It sounded more like a way to get to know people your age, definitely not a dating event.

I am 32 and dont drink often either but more than likely be up for some dancing and fun siome nights! I always go on these cruiss with my parents and my 3 kids so I never have anyone to go to the bars with. I am so excited to possibly go with a group of friends.:cool1:

Also we leave TODAY!:banana::banana:

Everything is packed and ready to go in the cars. We are staying at Gatwick Airport today and fly out around 11am tomorrow. So I wont be posting as much.

Safe travels to everyone leaving soon and ill catch up as and when I can. Ill be at the Mickey pool embarktion day:banana:

LOL. My son is 18 so 7am isn't in his vocabulary on non school days He may be up by the crack of noon.

My daughter would love to hang with your older kids. I'll let her know. Are you on late dining?

Our family is on two different schedules. That is why the older kids have their own room this time around.

Yes, we are on late dining and then we go pick up the younger boys and get them ready for bed. The only late shows I get to see are Pirate Night and on the last night when the characters say goodbye. On the plus side, it is pretty cool watching the sun rise while sitting in the hot tub with my 7 year old.

Safe, easy travels, Colette. So excited your holiday starts TODAY! :cool1:

We are early dining. Not sure how we can finesse it to get to the clubs after later show with DD6, maybe staggered DH one night and me on another -- that is if we are not passed out tired and full from dinner!:laughing

More packing today!:woohoo:

I'm 25 and LOVE to stay out late. Not much into dancing, but I'll go for the atmosphere and friends!! Hope to see ya'll there, should be a blast!!

Safe travels Colette! Remind your teenager about the teen meet on embarkation day. Alyssa hasn't been posting much because she is so busy but she will be there.

Caryn - when DD was younger she would stay in the kids club until it colsed so it allowed us to go to the clubs for a little while at night. This might be a possibility if your DD likes the clubs. For the younger kids they settle them down at night with a movie so they can fall asleep if they want.

This is the first DCL that we ever have had early seating... :confused3

We are assuming its because Vika is only 4... Who knows...

We enjoy dancing. Two years ago Amy & I were the only people in the bar; the DJ thought we were :rolleyes1 Didn't bother us, we just requested songs and danced the night away. :dance3:

9 days til vaca...

Its 17 degrees here in STL...

I wish I was here:
