Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

There are lots of hotels in the Orlando area that offer free shuttles from their hotel to US so maybe taking the free shuttle to US and hiring a car from the airport to the hotel and then from the hotel to the port would work. Some hotels even offer to pick you up from the airport! The trip to HP can definitely work, and I think the planning will be the most stressful part. :thumbsup2

oh, yes, I totally agree, if you aren't GOING to WDW, just stay at a hotel near Universal. There are lots of them close by that have shuttles from the airport and to Universal. If you want to buy Disney Cruise Line Transportation, you can still get it by going to the airport in the morning, or it might actually be cheaper and easier on your whole family to get private transportation service from the hotel to the port. I know there are many that advertise on Google and some that the Disboard people recommend.

Good luck. Now it doesn't seem so hard, does it?:grouphug:

T..but where does one find those huge Mickey hands that I have seen in several pictures of people that are cruising? We are still planning on doing the MVMCP on the 16th so if they are at Magic Kingdom somwhere I will definitely be able to get them! Also does anyone have any experience with Bippity Boppity Boutique? I was hoping to get DD 3 in there for some sort of appointment on the 16th but I know they are probably booked. Can you just walk in and buy some merchandise from there or are the items only for the packages you purchase? I am going to call at somepoint tomorrow once I know our schedule a bit better for the 16th however any information is greatly appreciated! :wizard: I think after this week-end I am going to book a few extra spa treatments for myself too :cutie: I swear one thing we are not is BORING!

:cool1:

Christie

you can buy those hands at the World of Disney Store at Downtown Disney, for sure, and since that is where the Bippity boutique is, you can do both at the same time. I agree, you MIGHT not be able to book a time. I would call as soon as possible, BUT all the goodies are for sale from the clothes to the tiaras to the wands and hairpieces.....probably even the makeup......not sure about that. Have a wonderful time!princess:

Help! I went to page one to print out the list of cruisers with room numbers, but I can't find it.

ALSO I can't find the FE list!

The Hyatt is an excellent choice if you are not going to WDW. We are staying friday night at the Springhill Suites (about 1 mile from airport) - for AAA rate of 76.99 for a 2 bedroom Queen Suite. They have free airport transportation and the driver will lift the bags onto the shuttle:). I've stayed here before and at the Hyatt at MCO and both are very nice.

Many hotels provide shuttles (not usually "free") to US or other Orlando attractions. Since renting a car is out, taxi's will be plentiful. Will write more later but off to school meeting

Adding that the cost of the taxi or car service combined with the savings on the hotel may be equal. Also, you may want to check on the hotel at US that includes a fast pass. If it included all the HP things you would want to do - the increased cost may be worth the time (you know that pesky time vs $$$ thing ). But it may not include all the HP shows/ride.

<hugs Miamtel> we all carry scars - some obvious to the world and some we hide away, even from ourselves. You didn't overshare - you put a real person to a very traumatic time in your life. Thank you for trusting us enough to help you hold it together when the strings start to unravel.

<3 Lisa

.

I have to admit, while the shuttle launch would be absolutely amazing, it was really stressing me out. I am used to Port Canaveral being a certain way, and I don't think I could have handled all the extra people.

Safe journeys to anyone starting your trips.

I was kinda glad too. Sad for people who have never seen a launch because it is truly amazing but the crowds are unbelieveable. We would all have had a great time. I was waiting to book the Residence Inn for a couple of days because we were ready to turn Gold status. Then they announced that the launch would be that night and all of a sudden there were no rooms available anywhere. We had already worked it out so that we could park both cars at the hotel for the duration and use our points. I was panic stricken!!!!:scared1: Everything is back in order now so I can breathe again. :santa:

Is there still a DISers meet the night before?

Looks to fit well. In hindsight I wish I had put 2010 on the back, but ah, well. One of my 2 HP shirts is wacky small and not measuring to what the website posted on their size chart :sad2: but will contact and see.

Leave in a week!

hi Caryn

So who printed these? Zazzle? I had no luck with them or three major vendors in printing anything Disney all cried copyright on me.

Does anyone remember where the FE ship layout thing is? I printed the FE list but can't find the ship one. :confused3

Fish Extender List was in a PM sent by tinkmischief. The original link is still valid since it has been updated online as a Google Document. I did PM the link to cquick in case it got deleted.

The ship layout done by Kitster is located at http://i1037.photobucket.com/albums/a459/Kitster2/FE_DeckPlan.jpg

Be sure to use the ship layout in conjunction with the list to understand what cabins are together or separate Fish Extender Gifts. The Late Fish are included at the bottom of the Fish Extender list and are included on the ship layout.

Thank you jenedpey!!!!! That's exactly what I needed!

I'm sorry, I feel like I'm being a pain in the ole rear, but do any of the locals know approximately how much a taxi to/from MCO-US would be? I'm just trying to decide if it would be cheaper to lump that in with a car service or separate, especially since I'm not sure what time we'd be leaving the park that night.

Thanks. Sorry for the "too much information" earlier. I get stressed easier than usual nowadays.

Miatamel--

You make me smile almost every time you have a reply. :lmao: The reply about your recent incident is awful. We all want to help you with this. mommylissa has offered picking up your stuff- is that an option?

We are flying in on Thursday night (16th) and renting a car. Driving to a Universal hotel. You are correct that it is more expensive than Pop century (we were originally staying at All Star Music). We wanted to buy the "fast pass" so that we can do as much of Universal in a day as possible. If you factor in that you get into the park an hour early and get free fast passes if you stay in a Universal hotel- the cost became equal. Can we drive you to the hotel? Are you arriving Thurs night or Fri morn? I hope this makes sense. Let us help you with this.....pm if I can help in any way!

On a lighter note- my botp t-shirt came today. I have not exercised since my run to the mailbox last week. My DH and DS12 say there is no way that I will finish- but I will have a cool t-shirt. :thumbsup2

My DH thinks the laundry DOTD is a great idea as long as I do the laundry instead of him. He also thought the McDonald's cardboard drink carrier was an awesome idea for coffee in the am (usually I am in bed and he is carrying back to the room) He's planning on McDonalds tomorrow!:yay:

mommylissa- my DS12 cannot figure out why you want to spend time at the mall. He says your uniform is cooler than anything that you can buy at the mall. "Why wouldn't she just want to wear that?" :rotfl2: He may want you autograph!:thumbsup2

OK I have 2 requests:

1. My daughter (27) is asking if there is anyone over 21 who will be going to Rockin Bar D or any of the other night time entertainment. She's not big on drinking but she still like to go. I'm usually too tired. :cloud9: She'd like to get in a crowd who likes to have fun and dance. Anyone in their 20-30's who can stay up past 11pm?
:rotfl:

2. My son (18) loves to play basketball. Any guys out there who like to play onboard every day?

These were zazzle. I took the Mickey grpahic from their contents and it went through no problem.:confused::confused:
If it worked for me it should have worked for you. I'm sorry it didn't. :confused3

Just so you know, Islands of Adventure is open 9am - 7pm on the 17th of Dec and the Studios are only open til 6pm. If you are only looking to stay one night, why not check into staying at one of the Universal Partner hotels. Most have complimentary transportation to Universal and include breakfast the following morning. You would have to check with the individual hotels to find out about airport transfers, though. Just go here Universal Value Partner hotels and check out the hotels offered.

I've got a daughter (21) and a son (19) who will be up for doing things at night. She doesn't drink but likes to dance and go out and will certainly want to unwind after spending the day with her younger brothers.

Your son is welcome to join me and my 7 year old son around 7:00 am. :rotfl: That is when we play basketball and then head down to the pool to swim. We like it because for some reason no one else is up playing or swimming this time of morning. :confused3

My DW likes it because it gets him out of the room.

My daughter would love to hang with your older kids. I'll let her know. Are you on late dining?
