Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

I've only done this on the Wonder so I'm going by what I've been told- but look at the Navigator when you check in it will have the location where Palo is set up (I'm thinking Rockin Bar D or Studio Sea- I've heard both of those). On the Wonder it doesn't open till 1pm and there's sometimes a line.

yup, it's Rockin Bar D, everytime I have gone.

what elegant dresses you ladies have on!

hi another DCL-newbie question.

We're planning to get to the port early to see if we can score a spot in Group 2 embarkation, because I want to change our Palo reservation to another night (the slot we have is not ideal but better than nothing).

Once we board the ship, can I go try to do this right away, and where do I go - ie/I'm guessing Guest Services desk? Will it be open ~1-2pm? :confused3

Should be Rockin' Bar D, but check the personal navigator or ask the crew. Even if you get on a later boarding group, you should be fine if you go straight there. I think they hold back a lot of Palo slots for embarkation day reservations. Last cruise we got everything we wanted and we were in group 6 or 7. The wait in the Palo reservation line wasn't that long either.

It took a while, but fortunately have booked all of our Palo visits and we can skip Rockin' Bar D this time.

Okay, so I have to share this magnet. I'm so proud of it!! LOL

It just turned out so perfect. :cool1:

I am not sure what Claire posted, but I will agree, she has been "tasked" with our magnets. She is very crafty - we are just taping pictures and stickers on our magnetic paper.

As for pasty skin - we will be so pale, I wear it as a badge of honor. It might be 7 here tonight. I don't even try any more - I will be the one at the pool with rash guards and hemp hats...In fact, I am having a hard time even imagining what its like to pack for warm weather.

Claire and I got matching "one of a kind" Italian designer skirts at Nordstrom Rack this weekend. If anyone is still looking, they had lots of cute stuff. We will wear the skirts for lifestyle portraits.

What is the status on a precruise Dismeet in the parks or whatever? I am quite behind on the boards. But, ever since I met Angie, I am really excited about precruise meets!

I know that Winn Dixie has different offers in different states, but in Alabama they are advertising $5 off of a $50 gift card purchase. This includes Disney gift cards. The limit per transaction is $300. I haven't been to the store yet, but I'm planning on getting some for the kids. And I'm thinking......earn Disney Visa points when I pay with my Disney Visa.

Researching food in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe presently.
Side note: There is a cat sleeping on my FE.

We lost our cat last year at Christmas :( would be happy for yours to turn uo in my FE!!!! :)

ok, phewf, the reveal of the cruise surprise to our DD9 went great. Was a little unsure at first, because when she opened the present and took out the Pirate Princess mickey ears, then unrolled the scroll that said "you're going on a disney cruise", at first she was just like "yay"...and I was like, that's it?!? And then she started to cry. And I mean sobbing, for like 10 minutes straight. She was shaking happy and couldn't believe it was real, she couldn't let go of her dad she was so knackered! We finally got a picture of her with dad after awhile (though she still wouldn't let go of him) with her mickey ears on. I've attached it here. They are watching the DCL DVD now, and she refuses to take off the ears, she is even carrying around the box and scroll. What a great feeling!!!! :lovestruc

Thanks so much, itutorfortravel, for telling me about your experience on this or I would have been completely unprepared for such a response!

I've also attached here a photo we took tonight (before the reveal) of (left to right) me, DH (Eugene), DD16 (Liz) and DD9 (Emily) in front. So sad that my DD16 is going to Montreal for the holidays and not on the cruise with us :sad2:, but I know she is looking forward to it and will have a good time without us!

LIFE IS GOOD! God, is it Dec 18th yet?!!? Please????

I highly recommend zazzle to everyone in the world. They are the very best. I called them and explained that the shirts were too small. They said not problem. They are sending us the new shirts in a larger size and told me to donate them to a good cause. I can now not worry about my t-shirts. Now, I need to finish packing and sewing the various items I need to sew. Of course I also need to teach school each day, write my students final, grade papers, teach my college class, submit grades, and of course do all of my family activities. I hope I have time to sleep. I will not worry about eating. The more weight I loose the better.

Fantastic! Hope my DD9 is just as happy as yours. princess: I don't see the tears coming - but neither did you or itutorfortravel. Great story and great pics! Enjoy not having to pack and gather in secret. :cheer2:

Hi everyone
Just catcing up internet was down all morning.
This time next week we should be at the airport hotel.
Although today Gatwick Airport is closed due to heavy snow, its supposed to open again tomorrow morning. So lots of fairy dust needed so that this gets sorted by next week!
Still running around getting last minute details sorted before my last 2 shifts this weekend.
Iv'e told myself I am only going to check the cases once more the night before we leave and thats it!
Taking the boys to get their new glasses after school today. Had laser eye surgery in July so for the first time since I was 11 I am going without glasses!:cool1:
Dog went vets today so she is all ready for kennels.
My to-do list is slowly getting smaller.
Colette

Colette, when you go to get their glasses, ask for their prescription and their PD (pupil diameter). Then you can go online and order glasses so ridiculously cheap you will kick yourself for buying glasses retail. I just received my order of 8 pairs of glasses (3 of them were prescription sunglasses) and it only cost $110 shipped. Looks like they ship to the UK. The glasses are of equal quality to what you receive in store. $5 US shipping (International shipping is $10) no matter how many you order so I order alot at one time. Shipping can take up to 2 weeks. My last shipment took 8 days. I am always super happy with all the glasses I order. Kids love them too! I have a pair in pink with rhinestones :lovestruc, green, red, silver, bronze, black with rhinestones, gold and tortoise. :lmao: I wear whatever glasses float my boat that day, hehehe Hope that helps you in the future.

 They have it here in Panama City too! We will definitely be making a Winn Dixie stop tomorrow....I think the special is running until December 7!

Love to know where I can get that DCL CD with the Caribbean music and, especially, the Serenity Bay tracks (truly my idea of at least a slice of heaven). We have a large CD library of the WDW parks music, but nothing DCL-ish.
