Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

Have any of you done the 5k run on CC? Does it happen with every cruise? Do participants get a pin or anything when you cross the finish line?

It sounds like a fun way to start the day. :tiptoe:

I apologize in advance if this is against the rules. I am asking this for mom for whom I would do anything. Okay, here it goes-

Would anyone who has a cabana be willing to share with me and my dorky but fun family? We would be willing to pay 300.00 to help with the cost. Plus, a drink of the day! :goodvibes: We could pay you onboard. It would be me, my DH, 5 year old DD, and my mom. We have a couple excursions booked so we probably wouldn't be in your way too much.

The reason I am asking- One year ago my mom had quadruple bypass heart surgery and this trip is her one big trip of a lifetime and I want to make it as awesome as possible for her. Anyhoo, I plan on trying to get one when we board but I'm also pretty realistic about our chances of getting one.

I know this sounds pretty pathetic but it never hurts to ask, right?

If your interested either PM here or you can email me- michelle@dargen.net

Thanks everyone.

FE is complete... same one we used before... but with Vika's name added to it

FE Update - should have gone your route! DS suggested using a stocking and foam lettering - in fact he suggested I should pay him to make it as he could produce one for me with no headaches and he was more than willing to help. Little faith did he have in his mother who occassionaly dusts off the sewing maching in the basement. Maybe he knew something I didn't....:headache:

Well I had visions of a multipocket FE dancing in my head and I declined his offer. This morning my aching back (from hunching over my work and ripping stitches out and restitching) and I seem to think that DS might have been on to something. :confused3

AFter my 10k this morning it is back to the sewing. :worship: I WILL FINISH TODAY. Nothing else might get down in the house but the FE will be checked off my list. I have the basic shape and pockets in place at this point. I need to add something other than the bias tape I originally tried to the edges in order to finish those off. I am also going the no sew iron on route for names. Too many ripped stiches yesterday. I am also thinking that whatever I do to finish the edges would be so much simplier if I go buy an iron on product...Hmmm.

Live and learn and atleast I can be proud of my efforts and remember the somewhat fun day of DS popping in and out with his wise words of teenage wisdom as he watched my progress

Please send some pixie dust my way!:wizard:

We finally got to our condo and got all settled in.:cool1: Long drive today and I am tired.:drive: :p Sitting here checking out the DIS with my DOTD(Bacardi Silver Sangria). :drinking1 Remember I'm on vacation so having a drink becomes a high priority!:thumbsup2 ::yes:: Just kidding.

I'm off to bed. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Glad to hear you had a safe drive down. Sit back and enjoy.....

Kitster thanks for the time and effort of producng these, I like to see things visually laid out so these are a great addition to the spreadsheet.:thumbsup2

Three At Sea - yes, I did get your information and I have added you to the wine tasting event.

Awesome! Thanks so much!

Message for ColKath2005....

Hi Collete, could you give me some advice re: UK winter weather? In a week or so from now I'm headed on a whirlwind trip to Salisbury, Coventry and London. Weather reports say it is average 5 degrees celcius during the day at that time of year but am wondering what "kinds" of cold it is in South central/south west regions of England...I'm from Canada so 5 degrees can be really cold if there is a north wind or really mild if not. Should I be wearing a full winter coat or would a fall leather jacket suffice? I plan to be doing a lot of walking outdoors and I'm only bringing carry on luggage so don't want to over pack but don't want to freeze either. Thank you!

There is a thread out there somewhere about the 5k. My DD16 is planning on participating in this event. I believe you get a certificate when you finish.

Kitster - awesome FE graphic Vicki. Thank you so much.

Thanksgiving - we will spend it with my parents and my Mom's family. Brittany(DD-21) comes in on Tuesday and I can't wait. I haven't seen her since August so I'm pretty excited.

Was hoping to meet up with Camie in Montogomery but it didn't work out. She was still shopping and we were trying to push on through so we could get here. Hopefully I will be able to meet her parents sometime this week. We also have a meet set up with Christie this week. Should be fun.

I'm off to bed. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

I am glad that you arrived safe to your destination, and that you are all settled in. We are in for a long drive this afternoon. We leave for Vegas.
Spas, shopping, gambling, shows, turkey, and most important my family will make for an awesome holiday. It is going to be a wonderful week.

What about DWTS? Go Jennifer.

Talk to you soon.

OK...I tried to copy and paste the links from a previous post, but they didn't paste correctly. SO.....Here's the "map".... Go to the Part II portion of this thread, click on page 148, and scroll to posting #2214. There are 2 links to CC5K links I came across earlier this fall. I am still planning to run it!!! It's great motivation to keep me working out as the cold weather sinks in here in Michigan! :)

Hope you decide to join us!

Harry Potter was amazing. The ending sure left me wanting more NOW!
:wizard:

Fish Extenders are ready to be shipped, and magnets would have been finished too, but we ran out of magnet paper. :thumbsup2

Kitster, Thanks for the map. It will be very helpful. :cheer2:

I leave for Vegas this afternoon! I cannot wait to see the lights of the Strip!

Raven has been at her confirmation retreat all weekend: Mountains, snow, and reflecting on her relationship with God. She should returned rejuvenated.

The final countdown is so exciting. I cannot wait. I will start packing after Thanksgiving. :santa::santa::yay::yay:

Things that I am looking forward to: Viva Las Vegas (spa, shows, shopping), volunteering at the Vet's center during Thanksgiving, and Black Friday.

Take care and talk to you soon.

:cool1: We leave in 25 days. I have a wooden advent calendar box with 25 doors/compartments. Today the kids will start with the 25th and work backwards as our countdown for the cruise. Each compartment will have a new little Christmas ornament (for our mini tree in the cabin) and 2 pieces of Mickey Mouse chocolate.

I can't believe we are 25 days from leaving. Doing the happy dance for sure!:cool1:

Off to the grocery store with THE Thanksgiving list...Wish me luck! I always come home forgetting one thing :confused3

Safe (and fun!) travels, IceSk8rsMom (and all out and about) :goodvibes

Love that deck map -- thanks Kitster!

Recovering from craft show. Today is last day, but I'll be home. Put in 25 hrs W/Th/Fr/Sat (of the 8 required). Had to deal with shoplifters at the silent auction table and down in the arena, people trying to sneak in ($2 cover charge to go to cancer patients and childrens services - really? REALLY? Makes me so mad, anyway ...) Working on FE pressies today and wrapping Christmas presents :santa:

For those of you who have stayed at a WDW resort how far is Downtown Disney from the Magic Kingdom? We are staying at the Contemporary and I thought we could walk to Downtown Disney one evening.

I can't tell you how many families I have picked up on the side of the road in Disney trying to walk somewhere. It's usually the people staying at one of the hotels on 192 that say they are 1 mile from the gate. hehehe Poor kids are walking for miles in their princess costumes. :sad2:

The contemporary is all the way in the back of WDW. If I had to guess, I would say it is about 11 miles and mostly highway type roads. Hope that helps.

That would have totally been us! It would have been one of those "Hey! It's a beautiful day let's just walk." LOL I think we'll stick with the bus!

Thanks Penny! It sounds like a really fun run. I'm not the fastest or best runner but I think I would like to try it!

I can't believe we are on Part III already! I am having a hard time keeping up!!! I have been staring at my BIG bag of FE gifts and wondering where I can fit them in my luggage.

I was looking at my docs last night and I couldn't find what our rotation and times are for meals. Where do we look? I also noticed that we are prepaying our servers, I didn't realize we had signed up for that, has anyone else done this?

In the past we have gotten our dining rotation information onboard in our cabin
