Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

We just booked this cruise and following in our tradition will keep this cruise a secret from our kids. We have 4 kids, ds15, dd 13, ds turning 11 on trip and dd turning 9 on trip. We cruised last Christmas as well - Hello Lori and Rick aka TheBeadPirate. Looking forward to seeing you at Bingo again!!

We have lived in Orlando for the past two years, but are from LI, NY. We usually just load the car with our luggage and tell the kids we're going on an adventure!!
My dh works for an airline, so my kids are used to last minute trips.

I will pm details for the FE later. Now, I have to start researching and reading the previous threads.

Can't wait for another Magical Holiday and to meet everyone.

Marguerite

Hey Maguerite! We were just talking about you guys the other night! Your DH better not win my pedicure and foot massage this year!:rotfl:
Glad we'll get to see you guys again this year.

I noticed on the DCL website they are selling Halloween stateroom gifts. Will they sell Christmas gifts too and are there likely to be little trees available? :santa:

Last year they had decorated trees- seems like they were $250-$300. Also had prefilled stockings. They should probably be up after the Halloween cruises are done.

:cheer2:Welcome Aboard:cheer2:

We love Bingo too! In 2008 on a 4 day cruise DDs boyfriend won a $3500 jackpot! So you will probably see us at all the Bingo sessions if we can make them.

Yay! I just added 4 nights at the Yacht Club after the cruise so we can celebrate the New Year in the most magical place on earth! My kids are going to be so excited!

Did I read that I can buy a small tree and have it delivered to our stateroom?

We will be at WDW for 4 nights after the cruise also. We are staying at Saratoga Springs.

Hi Everybody! :wave2:
We just booked the cruise tonight. So excited! Just got back last week from the Med cruise so I really shouldn't be booking yet but the price was right and I just love Disney cruisin!!!! We are a family of 5

me (Lisa) 47
DH (Drew) 45
DD (Jo) 27
DS (Jason) 18
DD (Jess) 15

We booked 2 Oceanviews but we don't have the room number yet (GTY). We'd love to do the FE if still possible. We would also love to do the meetups , ornament exchange and the secret Mickey. They all sound like fun! I don't know how I will ever be able to catch up with you guys. There are 2 very full threads.

:scared1:

I love that you guys have started a website for this cruise. Not sure how to get on it yet but I was able to browse and it looks great!
Thanks for the info on Shirley. That will come in handy:santa:

Hello! My family and I recently booked our first Disney cruise! We are so excited and so ready - but have so many questions!

We want to participate in the FE, but I'm not sure if I signed up the right way. I sent a message to Tinkmischief (?) - is that all I need to do?

And how do we get on the roll call?

This is such an awesome thread! Thanks so much for doing this!!

Thanks!
Aly

Welcome! Welcome aboard:-) My DD's first cruise was when she was 7. She had a blast in the club. DD never wanted to leave. She still talks fondly about her experience on the Wonder.

Welcome! My DD is also 15. I think keeping the cruise a secret is a fabulous Christmas surprise. Unfortunately, I do not have the will power. Surprises are a challenge for me. I so wanted to play bingo on our past cruises, but I seem to get distracted by something else like the spa or a nap. I hope this time around I can play a few games.

I calculated about 40% of the base fare on this cruise, CAT 9.

Wow, what a savings! I only hope when the Wonder calls SoCal home, Disney starts CA resident rates. I would cruise so much more with those type of savings! I appreciate the 411.

Welcome! I also have a DD 15. Our teens started a teen thread. You should have your kids check it out. I know this thread is jumping. You can feel the excitement building.

Man this thread is busy.

Mickeyteachers: What grades do you teach? I too am in education. Thanks for the information on the trees. We are bring a small Disney tree that we purchased last year at DL.

DVC4US: Thank you for the website. I have heard a lot about Shirley's gifts so I really appreciate the additional information. Also, DWTS is tonight! I cannot wait! My favorite is still Jennifer Grey. We will have to debrief tomorrow.

We have main seating. It appears that most of you have second. I prefer main because I like to go to bed early. I know party animal.

Take care and talk to you soon:-)

:welcome:Welcome Aboard!:welcome:

I have a DD who is 14 and she just joined the teen thread. She is very excited that we have more teens joining the cruise. I also have two older 'kids' - DD who is 21 and her boyfriend who is 22.

IceSk8ersMom - we will definitely have to talk DWTS tomorrow!

Funny one for today - my DD is always laughing at me for being on the DIS Boards all the time. Well today on the way home from school she says - okay I am going to go home and check the DIS and then do my homework. :thumbsup2 Then on the way to dance tonight she was like - when I get home from dance I am going to check the DIS and then take a shower.:flower3: I just looked at her and said - addictive isn't it. She just laughed.;) :upsidedow

Oops. I meant to type 40% off, not "of."

Still a great deal!

You'll usually catch us at every session of Bingo too. My kids love it more than the clubs. What does that say about their parents?!:rotfl::rotfl:

I just left CVS Pharmacy. They have 90% off summer items. So, I purchased almost everything they had in stock. I was so excited. I sent my husband back to get the rest of the merchandise.
I now need to get it all organized for the trip. I am so excited.
For those of you keeping it a surprise for your children that is wonderful. We did that for two of the Christmas cruises. We picked my son up from school and told him we were going to go for a drive. We then drove to the airport. He had no idea about the trip till we got on the plane. He was so surprised. This year I could not help but tell him. I was really excited about going on this cruise. We are also booked on the Dream in June. This will be fun. :cool1:
Now it is time to get back my grading papers. I teach high school and college and I have both groups of grading. I love teaching but do not like grading papers.

I'm trying to get the late diners together so we can all eat in the same restaurant and in the same area. You do not have to have other DISers at your table if you want it to just be your family we can request that. We did this on another cruise and it was a lot of fun. Let me know if you want to join the list.

I think that would be fun! We would enjoy being with the DISers! We would enjoy sharing a table as well.

I just wanted to put in a note of thanks to all of you on here that are doing such a great job to make this cruise special! I think this is one of the most active groups I have been with! I am glad, since we are going to be spending so much time together...smile! It is going to be so much fun to meet you all in person!
