Our old next door neighbors in NY had a lovely female Cavalier - what a doll! The sweetest dog I have ever encountered. She and our previous Bulldog were smitten with each other - a true Beauty and the Beast. I have a photo somewhere ...

While looking for said photo I found last year's Halloween pic of current Bulldog. Husband calls this either a mixed metaphor (GA Bulldog meets Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket) or the Grumble Bee:

and for you Pooh fans, this is my collection that I share with DD5. The big one was found circa 1991 by an over-zealous boyfriend at Sears. It was display, but he got them to sell it!

Is it too late to put together another Palo brunch group? I would be willing to try if there is interest. What do I have to do - call Disney with a certain number of people.

I hesitated to much starting the ice breaker - I was afraid people might think I was being nosy. Then I realized we are all DISers, going on a great trip together, and most people wouldn't mind.

Now when we meet at the bar, we can all jump to the important stuff - like sports and politics and Disney tips!

I have been trying to catch up from a week away and 4 pages have been added while I was reading!!! I hate it when I fall behind.

Ok: about us-

I am Angie (46-ugh), DH (45), DS (12) and DS (9). Our family also includes 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and a new Guinea Pig.

I was born in MO, but consider myself a Michigander. I have lived in MO, MI, CT, MD, OH and now MN. My fabulous husband and I met at band camp in 1981! We married in 1995- not dating that whole time! I have a PhD in Pharmacology and an MD. I am a pediatrician in Eden Prairie, MN (and live probably less than 20 minutes from mndisfam-I promise to pm this weekend, Kathleen! Yes we did have almost 10 inches of snow last weekend). I work hard and play hard. My DH is a retired pilot- now SAHD.

I am passionate about my sons; love reading, scrapbooking, skiing and photography. I am big time into Harry Potter and am Walt's #1 fan. I am obsessed with travel. While the rest of you have been on the disboards over the past week, I have been trying to plan a 3 week trip to Alaska this summer . I learned how to sew last month when I made our first fish extender.

The picture from the DOTD princesses and the bio from miatamel made me laugh out loud!

Are you kidding me tinkmischief? I would rather die than not give you and your son a FE gift. Keep 'em coming!

I am Swedish, but I have recently discovered that DH has at least 3 relatives from the Mayflower (including Oceanus- the only child born at sea!)

I have a ton of favorite vacations- my first time staying on Disney property with my fiancee (now husband) at Dixie Landings in 1994, bare-boating the Caribbean in spring 2009, a Mediterranean Disney Cruise, a weekend with DH in Paris, and my all-time favorite (first of many) 2 week family ski vacations to our new-at-the-time condo in Steamboat Springs, CO. We travel to Disney once a year.

I am shy until I have 2 DOTD's! In fact I will stand in the corner, so please come find me. (I better try to upload a picture of us this weekend so that you will recognize me). We will dress up, although I have gained a lot of pounds in the past year and have no desire to exercise . I will be shopping this weekend... My spare bedroom is full of stuff for the cruise, but we will not be packed until the weekend before we leave. I will work in the office until 2 hours before our flight leaves.

I can't wait to leave on 12/16! Oh- by the way-the thing that I love the most is to relax with my DH on the cruise and know that my DS's are safe and having a great time.

I forgot to mention in my icebreaker Mark and will celebrate our 23rd anniversary on 12/24. We eloped to Lake Tahoe and got married Xmas Eve. If you knew us, you would be surprised. We are kind of dull!

IceSk8trsMom, I hope you have a good rest of the week and can relax this weekend before T-giving in Vegas.

Angie, I've always wanted to go to Steamboat Springs to ski. I've heard it's great skiing and a great town! We'll ge there after DD can do the blacks consistently b/c the instructors all know her at Breck's Peak 8, where she has been skiing since she was 4, and she gets very special treatment. We are missing our annual ski vacation for the cruise, so I will be spring skiing this year for the first time since the early 90's. Hope it's not too icy!

I can't seem to get my head around that Thanksgiving is a week away. I need to get magnet paper and start organizing FE's and finish ordering Christmas gifts. I think I'm done for DD and DH; I can always punt on others and hope to find something in the islands?

Where is the best place to get magnet paper? Sams seems to have the best price I could find quickly on-line?

Oh, and I rec'd another American Girl free shipping code if anyone needs it, just pm me. It expires Nov 23.

Last year I got my magnetic paper at Amazon.com. I got a huge amount, like 50 sheets and I want to say it was around $25. I don't remember exactly, but it was WAY less expensive than any office supply store I checked. The brand was Fellowes...

As a little girl we lived in Kirkland. Many years later my Dh & I lived in Renton and in Puyallup. I miss our beautiful view of Mt Rainier.

I grew up in Port Townsend and lived many years in Seattle (near the zoo) -

I miss coffee on every corner and Mt Rainer on a sunny day

I can't find the quote but we are also doing Caret Island - Kids picked it as #1 thing to do. (DD's are 16 & 12 if other families going)

Also some asked if anyone was winging it in Martinique and we are - we are planning on shopping, getting some wine and having a lunch somewhere

We are also winging it in Martinique. The main part of town and the old Fort are an easy walk. The food is supposed to be great. (DS16, DS15, and DD13).

Ditto! I was sad that we would not have any family with us over this vaca, but now I feel like we have a "built in" group of people we know.

We are also booked for the Creole Fiesta on Claret. Along with the 5 star Catamaran and French Riviera Orient Beach. Basically, if it comes with a meal, I booked it.

My tiny little theatre is actually having the midnight showing of Harry Potter and so I got mine and DD9's tickets last night. I've yet to decide if I'm a really good mom or a really bad mom for going out at midnight on a school night and then us all sleeping in Friday morning and missing half a day of school. I'm sure I'll be pariah-ed by the PTO moms (of which I am NOT) and beloved by my daughter. The Anal German Hottie Husband is not real thrilled about it, either, I don't think. C'est la vie!!

I cannot get over how many impressive degrees we have on this sailing. Seriously, this is one educated bunch. (I believe just this group could have fed, medicated, drilled, built and rescued the Chilean miners all by ourselves) Me notwithstanding. I'm feeling totally inferior--can I claim a degree in Eccentricity?

I say go to the movie! Life is too short. Your DD will remember it always. We are in the minority of not being into Harry Potter in our family. My group loved Star Wars - actually flew down to Star Wars weekend one year.
