Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

My boys will be receiving gift cards in their stockings from Gramma & Grampa, along with some smaller items. Santa already has their gifts, and he will leave them under the tree so they have a couple of things to open on Dec. 29th.
We can order the Disney Gift Cards through a program at Church/School called TRIP ( or SCRIP). Basically, by ordering through them the organization receives a percentage of the purchase back. So, my gift cards will bring then 2% back (not much, but every little bit helps). I am also purchasing a card for my hotel stay the night before, which gives them 10% back. It requires a little planning, but if you are going to spend the money anyway, I would rather the community gets a little dividend. (Starbucks, gas cards, grocery stores all give a % back!:goodvibes)
:santa:

After posting, I realized that I will most likely pack on the morning of.

Being a morning person, things like that go much better first thing in the morning than in the evening.

Hmmm...since the days of my cancelled wedding I've been known to "celebrate" a bit while packing...mimosas sound pretty yummy right now. Especially if they are mango instead of orange...and the champagne is Veuve...

On the other hand, maybe I should just pack the night before and wake up and celebrate that I'm done packing and my vacation has started!:confused3

:grouphug:
Yesterday, I accidentally took the wrong meds. I took two 350 mg of Norco instead of my Plaquenil. I was clueless that I did this. Driving to work, I became dizzy, light-headed, and I had a strong urge to toss my cookies. I made it to work, but I could not function. They called the school
nurse, and we figured out what had happened. They called my DH to come pick me up from school because I was "sick." So I spent the next 24 hours in bed or throwing up. Even when my DD ran into our bedroom and announced that our docs arrived, I could not get excited. Crisis! I am home from school today because I have dr. appt's and an MRI for my TMJ (which the Dr said is one of the worse cases that he has seen). I will have surgery after the first of the year.

Now for our Docs Dance
:cool1::cool1::cool1::dance3::yay::yay::yay:

Next, Introductions...

I am 21 years old with 20 experience. I had several careers, but all have been in education. I have been a general education and special education teacher, a program specialist, and presently, I am an assistant principal at a middle school, which has been an amazing experience. I love my family and spending time with them, especially at DL. I am crazy about everything Disney. We are annual passholders. We go to DL and DCA as often as we can. My other hobbies are fashion, reading, and walking. I am passionate about staying healthy and fit. I have RA. This doesn't defined me, but it is part of who I am. My lifestyle has been adjusted to accommodate my aching joints. It is under control most days, but I do get flare-ups.

I am married to a wonderful man,who is younger than I am. I was a cougar before Courtney Cox made it cool. He is a peace officer. I am also the proud mother of Raven. She ice skated for over 10 years. She shot up to 5-10 and lost many of her jumps so after a lot of decision, she decided to focus more on dance. Now, she is on her school's dance team and loves it.

I enjoyed reading about all of you. I cannot wait to meet you. It is almost here. Can you believe it?

Take care and talk to you soon.

:grouphug:Oh, my, that is a bad day. Hope today is better for you.

Stephen and I will probably be walking around taking photos of the island area. We honestly couldn't find anything we were interested in doing.

Hello again! I feel like I've taken over the board the past couple of days!

I am just curious what other Xmas Magic cruisers are doing when we get to Martinique. We haven't really planned anything but we are thinking about spending the day in town SHOPPING!! I absolutely love shopping in France and I've been told that Martinique & Guadalupe are just like being in France except warmer!

We will be in port on Xmas eve day so it could be fun to pick up some gifts. Plus, I'm really hoping to get some stinky cheese, yummy bread, and some cheap bottles of fantastic wine to bring back onboard.

What are the rest of you going to be doing?

~Michelle

We are signed up for Land & Sea with Little Train b/c I'm very interested in the St. Pierre volcano ---but I read on Cruise Critic that it's fun to take the ferry over to Pointe du Bout for beaches, shopping and cafes.

I'm going to have a sit down with DH very soon to decide what we are going to do in each port. I'm signed up for stuff, but not really settled on anything; except for the America's Cup thing in St. Maarten. I guess. :)

I'm truly saddened that I missed out on the shirts! I'm not the craftiest so I'm not sure if I can make one.
@Lori - Could you please add me to the growing list of buttons, please?

~Lorrie

Lorrie, you can still Create Your Own t-shirt at either Zazzle or Cafe Press. I simply had to close the shop I had set up to make things easier. I added links to the graphics to my signature. They should be easier to find that way.

My father suffered from TMJ also. Sometimes it would get so bad he'd be clawing at his face trying to get the pain to stop. Stubborn man that he was, he refused to take any meds stronger than aspirin or Tylenol for it. I always thought he missed his calling when he joined the Coast Guard.......he would have made one HELL of a Marine.

You, me, Courtney Cox and Demi Moore. It's a great club to belong to

Just wondering.....can the kids use the Disney gift cards to purchase stuff or does it all have to go on the KTTWC? I think it's a great idea for Christmas but want to make sure they can use them on the ship.

You can also get your own iron on transfer paper and do it at home :)
Just in case anyone wants a Christmasy one or a different version for another day :rotfl:

They can use the Disney Gift Cards anywhere Disney. WDW, DL, Disney Shops, Disney Store online, and DCL. They do NOT have to charge to the KTTW with it.

DH, Paul, is 36. I, Melissa, am 34 (will be 35... OMG... in January!!)
DD, Anna Marie just turned 5 in October.
I grew up in Massachusetts, where most of my family still lives.
I have been in the Army for 17 years, DH has been in for 12.
We love serving our country and all of the opportunities it has afforded us.
I am currently deployed to Iraq (for the 3rd time) and DH is in the process of relocating to Fort Bragg, NC (where I hope to catch up in the spring).
This will be our first Disney Cruise and we are super excited to be able to spend Christmas together.
I am not even close to being packed yet, as all I have here is digital camouflage and combat boots......but, I plan on spending 3 days shopping prior to embarkation day and I have been shopping online like CRAZY!!
We are going all out on attire....full pirate costumes, formal dresses/tux, holiday outfits and pajamas, even some game day sports wear (as I am a HUGE football fan!)
I am a Longhorn, married to a Sooner. I got my Master's degree (in Physician Assistant studies) from Nebraska, and I am stationed in Kansas, so I am all sorts of Big 12 confused!
After eating bland, yucky Army food for the past 9 months, I fully plan on gaining 10-15 lbs on vacation!!
I love SCUBA diving, Grey's Anatomy (please, no spoilers, as I have not seen it since last January!!), Nicholas Sparks books, and enjoying my wonderful husband (when we actually get to be in the same zip code!)

Nice to meet you! Where in MA is your family from? We live in the north suburbs in Amesbury.

Nice to meet you! Where in MA is your family from? We live in the north suburbs in Amesbury.

My family is all in Western Mass....Ware, Ludlow, Wilbraham, Longmeadow. We summer at the Cape every year, and I've spent lots of time in Boston. My younger sister did a year at Salem State before transferring to UMass Amherst. I adore New England in the fall.....it must be so beautiful right now! Unfortunately, I only make it back there once or twice a year.

We just got married at The Publick House in Sturbridge last February. (PICS available on my FB page if anyone is interested in friending me-Melissa Wilkes) It was snowing and sooooo beautiful! We spent a week in Jamaica for our honeymoon, then I deployed 8 days later :-(

It is great that you and your family will get this vacation together before your husband heads across the pond himself.

Mickeyteachers - I need your names first and last and room# for 3rd guest too. I need this asap or the whole brunch falls apart.:scared1: I have tried to PM you. Please PM me!!!

Hmorale - a.k.a. Heather

ugh! I just got a PM from Connie (cquick)...they got left off of the fish list. I never got their PM and totally missed their post on the board :sad2: am feeling absolutely sick about it! Please add them to your list (cquick cabin# 6654)- I am updating the listing online right after posting this. Not sure if there are kids in the cabin but I will let you know once I hear back.
If you are short on time, money or materials please reassign my cabin's gift to them. So very sorry everyone and sorry to Connie :guilty: for missing that

The more the merrier, I say! Have added them to my list...

Just saw the trailer for CARS 2 and I am sooooo excited!! I think I enjoy Disney movies almost as much as DD. popcorn::

:cool1:When is it coming out?
Colette

Here is the official synopsis from Disney:

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Cars 2 is due to hit theaters June 24, 2011.

We will definitely be there in line. My youngest DS is a Cars fiend. You will easily recognize him by his extensive collection of Cars shirts and he is usually holding Lightning, Doc or the King.
