My DS wants to play Magic Cards with his buddies, but he doesn't have the more powerful new cards. Anybody have any ideas about how to acquire some new cards for not too much money?

You can probably find some "filler" cards on Ebay but again, he won't have any of the powerful cards. But it is a cheaper way to just get some of the new cards for playing with. How old is your son?

Flea markets. My nephew had just lost/had ripped off his set of cards and he went and picked some up at a Flea Market.:thumbsup2

My son is 17. He did manage to play with his friend yesterday, but I don't know what kind of negotiations took place for that to occur.

I appreciate the suggestions. Thanks!

Hehehe, I thought your son was like a grade schooler which is why you were trying to help him out. Honestly at his age, he should ba able to find out through his own friends where he can get ahold of some cards. If all he wants to do is just play here and there, there's nothing wrong with sharing his friends' cards for the duration of the game or if his friends are willing, to let him borrow for a period of time (take home in his posession). It's if your son wants to get back into collecting his own set of cards to use for long term playing (or forever) that he'd need to purchase some. And it's not a cheap hobby at all when you start buying the sealed booster packs trying to get the "good" cards.
