Magic card

We have been to Disney and are familiar with the magic bands. However if every adult has a phone is there a need for a magic card? I would like them just to be on the safe side but when do you get them? Do they come a few weeks early like the magic bands did or do you get them at check in. With all the changes just trying to make sure all my bases are covered…TIA

You may use your phone or a MagicBand or a plastic card - all are inter-changeable. MBs are no longer automatically sent out; you can use the old ones you already have or buy new. If you prefer a plastic card, you can ask for one at the front desk of your onsite resort or request one at the parks.

You are wise to want a backup, in case your phone runs out of battery. You can pick up a free room card at the front desk, anytime during your stay.

Magicbands can be pre ordered to arrive at your home prior to trip or to await you at check in. They can also be purchased on site. Pre order is cheaper.
