Magic Bands

I am heading to the Parks with my sister and brother-in-law. Can they use my extra magic bands?

Q: Can other people use my MagicBand+?
A: A MagicBand+ can be assigned to any ticket or Magic Key pass on the MyDisney account it is linked to. The MagicBand+ must be used by the owner of the admission that is assigned to it (tickets and Magic Key passes are nontransferable). A ticket or Magic Key pass can be unassigned and reassigned to a MagicBand+ at any time. Additionally, a MagicBand+ may be unlinked from an account and linked to a new account via the Disneyland app.

I was going to ask the same thing and saw this post. I want to let my daughter in law have one of my magic bands. I was told on chat I couldn't do it. so I will give it a try and link it to her ticket!

Did you tell the chat CM that you had a MagicBand or a MagicBand+? If the former, the CM was correct; the older MBs don't work at Disneyland.

I think this may one of the times where WDW is different from Disneyland.

I can't remember but I don't think we mentioned magicband+. she just said they can't be transferred or whatever once linked to an account. something like that. I just thought I would check on here! I unlinked from my ticket so I will see if it works.

I think this may one of the times where WDW is different from Disneyland.

I do think it is different for Disneyworld from what I have read. I will find out when I try to do it.

I would hope that when you used the chat on the Disneyland website you were directed to a Disneyland CM. If they have a general Disney Parks chat staff, the CM you get should ask which resort you're going to before answering a question that has a different answer for DLR than WDW.

Yes, as I said, I assumed that. As I mentioned, I wonder whether that guarantees that you get a CM who's specific to Disneyland, or if not, that they at least have the sense to ask you which resort you're inquiring about.
