Magic bands

staying at the dolphin, no meal plan and I have magic bands from October 2013. Can I use them? Only doing 2 or 3 days in the parks. What is the benefit of new bands? I read something about interactive rides. Thanks!!

Yes you can use them.
The long range battery is probably dead by now so some features like seeing your name displayed in the IASW goodbye room or getting your 7DMT pics and video will likely not work.
If you want those features you'll want to purchase a new one but anything that you actually have to tap your band for will work so most attraction photos and using FP+ would still work fine.
