Magic Bands when staying offsite

I have a friend who is going to WDW Monday, August 1st. She bought her tickets through a third party and is staying offsite. She said she will be picking up her tickets at her hotel. Will she need to buy magic bands? If not, how does she get in the park, on rides, etc. It seems like we always use our Magic Bands for everything. Thank you! If I had known earlier, I could have tried to help her then, but I just found out about her trip!

she does not need to buy magic bands but if she wants them she will need to purchase them herself as they are only complimentary for those staying in a disney resort.

she would use her ticket to get into the parks and for FP+.
the tickets have RFID in them as well. its just not long range RFID.

yep she dose not need a MB, all your friend needs is the ticket she is picking up at the hotel it will get them in they will use it for the FP

She can just use the plastic card she'll get for scanning her entrance and FP's. She can definitely get a magic band if she wants to purchase one though. There's tons of designs and you can create your own at MK and Disney Springs. They start at $12.95 for the basic solid color and go up in price from there
