Magic Bands Upgrade

If the same people responsible for Disney IT (web, MDE, etc) were responsible for the computer control for rides at Disney I’d be scared to ride anything!

I guess they just don't have the huge amount of inventory needed to satisfy everyone.
But at least they put more on there so some people could get them.
Maybe they need to adjust the ordering period. So you can ONLY order them if you trip is within a month. That way anyone who has a trip 6 months from now doesn't get the bands yet and eats up all the inventory.

They don't even need to go that far. Just treat it as they would complimentary bands and ship them at that time. Then people can still order without worrying about this.

Which is exactly how I think this fiasco got started. I just got an e-mail saying mine have been shipped.

Mine were Flynn and "I am Goofy" which doesn't seem to be as in demand as others so I don't feel AS bad. Still they should be shipping by arrival date. Or just make it so you pick up the upgrades at check in

I think if you get the upgraded ones they ship right away but if you have the standard ones they hold off on shipping until just before your trip. Basically giving you more time to upgrade.

Order went through yesterday for a late August trip. Saw the same confusing 5-7 days and 10 days before messages. Received an email today with a tracking number.

I wouldn’t say within a month since normally they ship them at the 30 day mark. They just need to stop shipping them as soon as they are ordered or if they insist on doing that then make it so that your trip is within 60 days so that way people who have trips booked 4+ months out cannot order.

but on the flip side, if I had a trip in 6 months, fully booked,etc.. and saw an upgrade magic band I wanted but was told you couldn't select it for 5 more months, and then in 5 months it is no longer available, I would be annoyed about that

I think they just should ensure they have more inventory for what they put up there

Ordered 4 upgraded MB on the first day, order arrived Wednesday this week with two correct (SSE and Slinky Dog) and two gray. Got email Thursday for $15 off MB (x2) on ShopDisney (and free shipping).

We’re doing a split stay, and I haven’t touched the second “batch.” Trying to decide whether to try to get the other two bands that way (so they’re customized) or just get them from ShopDisney (with no names). Also, the CC charge was pending off and on over the month between order and delivery, but it hasn’t shown up again since they shipped. I was going to call if they charge me for 4 but so far they don’t seem to have actually charged me at all

Anyone else seen such a delay (a week+ after shipping) for the charge to post?

Yep. I had a pending charge, a few weeks later it dropped. Bands arrived then a few weeks later the corrected total was charged as I only received 3 of the 4 upgraded bands I had ordered. Hang in there, they will charge you

It’s a Sunday afternoon. I don’t understand why the availability keeps changing like the air downwind of Pumbaa.

Thankfully we’ve got ~70 days on the selection counter so I’m just waiting until everything settles down.
