Magic Bands set up

I just received notification for personalizing bands. Do I need to purchase tickets before I can pick fast passes? I'm not understanding the procedure.
I already know I miss the "old fast pass system".

Can I just pick my fast passes at the park each day like before?

Please advise!

1- Yes. (To pick in advance, you must have tickets connected to your MyDisneyExperience account.

2- Yes. You can pick 3 FP+ each day when you are in the parks.

3- No, it is not "like before," however.

Yes, you need to link your tickets to your magic bands.

Yes, there are kiosks in the park that let you set up your FP+'s that day.

You must have a ticket linked to your MDX account (not techically to the band - you don't have anything stored on the band)

You can pick passes in the park if you wish - at FP+ kiosks. If you are asking about drawing paper fastpasses, there are no more paper fastpasses.

I'm thinking for us it would be better to obtain fast passes each day at the park we are at. I know we utilize our bands to get the fast passes. Do they stop distributing these electronic fast passes as they are all booked?

Also, can my husband do the fast pass run.......he take all bands and load the fast pass while I do bathroom breaks with the kiddies?

I understand 3 per day per person.

2- No need to do so.

You make ALL THREE FP+ selections (and for your entire group) at the same time... with one visit to a single FP+ kiosk.

That is great news ! I just read a thread that they are changing 3 fast pass rule. Sounds like after the 3 are used you can get additional FP if available one at a time.
