I heard that if you have Memory Maker attached to your magic band that as of June 2nd you no longer have to stop and get your band scanned to get your ride photo. Has anyone been using this and how well is it working?

We were there last week and DH and DS rode Space Mountain and the whole crew rode Splash. One of their Space Mountain pics showed up in Memory Maker, no problem.

It took a call to Disney Photography services on Thursday to find the others and I'm still waiting. It works best if your face is not obstructed in the pics.

:D

But you do not have to stop and have a band scanned.

I went this past Nov and did MVMCP. I had no idea they could add ride pics to the bands at the time, so didn't bother getting them scanned. Imagine my surprise(and being relatively creeped out) when I got home and found my 2 Splash Mountain pictures in my photopass account online. So I've had no issues getting my ride photos without getting my band scanned, but purely on accident.

Thanks. We were there last weekend and always stopped. I just heard that as of June 2 you no longer have to.

Is it done on face recognition? That's scary.

We were at WDW June 1- June 6. Our first two days at the parks, we had to stop after rides with pictures and have our memory bands scanned at the counter. On Tuesday, June 3rd we were told we no longer had to have the bands scanned. It was our first day at MK, so I thought maybe it was just that way at MK. However, we found out it is like that at all parks now. I was skeptical of how it would work but we didn't have any problems with it. All our photos showed up with no issues. I absolutely loved that feature of Memory Maker. It was super convenient!

I questioned it because I couldn't figure out how it would recognize me if I hadn't scanned my magic band. The cast member I talked to told me at the point in the ride where the picture was taken the chip in the magic band would be recognized and the picture linked to my account.

Kind of creepy, but totally awesome! Saves a lot of time for someone like me who buys a ride picture almost every time we ride a ride!

This is good information to have thanks :thumbsup2 I hate waiting around to look at my silly pictures. Now I can do it from home :goodvibes

We just got back from a trip. We did not purchase MM, but when we looked at our Disney Visa picture, all our ride pictures were there! Total surprise.

We were there this past week and all of ours showed up. Loved the magic bands!
