Magic bands. - only 1 option available?

Going to select magic bands for our trip, 98 days out , it only lets me select a special Riviera band for each of us.

I know they aren't complimentary anymore but did I miss some other announcement?

I don’t think you missed an announcement like that. I was able to get more than that when I last bought them. They should have more at shop disney.

I was able to purchase magic bands for our trip in November. (I purchased for 2 people traveling with me) There were about 20 choices. That was a week ago. I just checked now and it's only giving me one option, the Rivera one you mentioned. Ugh! No thank you! Good thing I have a few old ones I can use.

Supply has been hit or miss. Been looking for the last few months for something my daughter wants. Havent found it yet. So, will probably not get any.

Same here. Trip is months away and I have old bands so fortunately not an issue.

This issue just cropped up in the past day or two. I was looking to order one for my late September trip and the selection has gone from 20-ish bands to just the Riveria one.

I went to my account to order bands today and they are saying all sold out??? WTH! My group will not be utilizing the genie app for our trip. Will the card they give us work the same as the magic band?

Sold out? Wow. I guess it depends on what you're using it for. The Magic Band would still be tied to your MDE and wouldn't have anything to do with Genie+, when it's available. But I think without a MB, you can use your phone, or they can give you a physical card for most anything (room key, park access, charging, etc). If you have any older MBs, those will probably still work if linked to your MDE. Have a great trip!

Do the cards work for the pictures on rides??? That is the only thing that I am sure about. We are traveling in September and even if the Genie app is available my group won't use it as we don't want to constantly have to pull out or phones or have it drain the battery. We loved the magic bands because we didn't have to worry about anything and could just swipe the band.

My guess is its a glitch. Give it a day or two and things will be reloaded.

They still have tons in the gift shops ( we saw them at everything pop and all over the parks) I agree it's a glitch.

they are still releasing brand new Magic Bands, D23 just showed a new one, a Mary Blair Alice in Wonderland themed band. So, they are not gone.

If you have any old ones you can use those, they just need to be listed as active on your account.

Where are you seeing they're sold out? I have the option to choose from 25 different bands. At what point are they telling you they're all sold out?

I was able to choose and personalize a new MB and 'Complete' the order.

I looked when I read this thread earlier today. And there was only 1 Riviera band showing up. Obviously was a glitch but resolved now.

Agree- there are magic bands at the resort gift shops. I found several color options at boardwalk and yacht club

Yea the same 25 or so that are not for me. I'll still wait. I figured maybe they would have star wars or marvel selection. I guess if you like what they have. I haven't seen anything great. Maybe there ramping up for the 50th? Or just getting rid of them all together. Ill use my plain ones if i have to.

The Magic Band would still be tied to your MDE and wouldn't have anything to do with Genie+, when it's available.

Genie (without the +) will take the place of MDE, so MBs already linked to MDE should already be linked to Genie when it comes out.

Hahah, they’ll be selling those riviera bands for years if they are selling like riviera.
