Magic Bands, MM, and family without MDX accounts?

This month marks the first time we've gone to The Mouse post-FP+. It's an extended family trip. My mother-in-law doesn't have a separate e-mail address from my father in-law. I'm the "organizer" for the reservations, FPs, ADRs, etc. Both of my in-laws are accessing MDX using the Disney Account and e-mail address that is associated with my FIL. I'm still shown as "Managing" my MIL's MB. (Ditto for our minor-aged son who effectively no longer uses e-mail, he uses IM instead, and hasn't created an MDX account or accepted the invitation.)

We also have a Memory Maker that is assigned to another member of the party. She is concerned that my MIL doesn't show up on the list of Friends & Family that she can set up for "photo sharing", and therefore is concerned that any photos associated with my MIL's MB will not appear in her MM feed. In reading all of the Disney FAQ's and such, I've come to the conclusion that since I "manage" my MIL's (and younger son's) MBs, and she's enabled photo sharing with my account then, by inference, the sharing will also apply to any other MBs that I manage. Do I have that right???

I think I followed that, and YES, as long as your FIL has your permission set to "this person may view and download my photos" in his MDX account, it will work.

We had overlapping trips with a friend in June, so I pre-purchased MM for us to share. We did not make reservations/ADRs/FP+ together. My friend and I linked our accounts as friends and gave each other the photo permissions. Any photos that her husband got still showed up in my MM, and I was able to download all of them after our trips.

Edited to clarify: I was not "friends" with the husband (I'm not sure if he had his own MDX account or not), and his name never showed up on my MDX friend list, but his pictures were still there... because his stuff was grouped with hers, and her stuff came to me. Hopefully that makes sense!

I made my FIL a dummy gmail account and then used it to make his own MDX account for this trip. I didn't do it last trip and just having him on MIL's account made things very difficult.

I thought about trying to set up a gmail account for her, but I think I'd be more trouble that the benefit it might gain us. As it stands now, I don't see any problems with the current arrangement... as long as I am right that since I "manage" my MIL's MB and any photos assigned to her MB will show up in the MM since my account is set up for photo sharing. From what I gather, effectively I have three MBs (mine, my MIL's, and our younger son's) that all should have the same family permissions.

My In-laws don't have smartphones to use MDX in the parks, and my MIL can view all of the shared family content while logged into their home computer with my FIL's account. So, I'm not sure what I'm missing... if anything... by not getting my MIL her own MDX account.
