Magic Bands, Luggage tags and Magical Express Paperwork

Been a few years since we visited Disneyworld. Were 45 days out from when we are set to arrive but was curious when do you typically receive in the mail your Magic Bands, Luggage tags and Magical express paperwork?

I moved recently, but have updated my new address in the system, but worried with technical glitches all the time, that stuff may get routed to an old address. I also dont want to wait to the last minute to call disney to let them know I still havent received any stuff.

Any idea when this stuff starts to arrive in the mail?

I believe they ship Magic Bands about a month before your stay. For my upcoming stay starting November 1st, I got an email saying my Magic Bands shipped on October 3rd. In your MDE it will show when you have to customize Magic Bands by - they will ship shortly after that date.

I'm not quite as sure about Magical Express paperwork because I didn't give them my flight info until after my Magic Bands shipped. Once I did that though, my ME stuff came about a week or so later.

We have stay coming up next month, arriving 11/17. The envelope with our Magical Express tags and letter arrived on Tuesday, 10/16. I’ve supplied my Magical Express info as close as 30 days from a trip and still received the tags.

Once I forgot to make a Magical Express reservation and only remembered 10 days before our trip. I called and was able to make a reservation, just no yellow tags (I know lots of people worry about not receiving the yellow tags, but it’s not a problem if you’ve saved your checked luggage receipt).

My reservation is for Nov 22 and I received my luggage tags yesterday (Oct. 19). When I called in to provided Disney with my flight I was told they would ship the tags out on about Oct. 12. So we received them about 35 days/5 weeks before check in date.

When you go to customize your MagicBands you will see that you have to give them the mailing address for the MagicBands. (Some people want their MB's shipped somewhere besides their home address for various reasons.) Just go into your MDE account and check that shipping address. It will be in the customize MB section. The MBs will ship separately from your Magical Express stuff. If you ordered MYW tickets then there should be character luggage tags included in the MB box.

If you are worried about your Magical Express reservation and the yellow luggage tags being shipped to an old address then just give them a call and they will check it for you. The phone number is: 866-599-0951 There is no average date that the ME stuff ships, but if you don't get it at least two weeks before trip date then you will need to call and check to see if they mailed them yet.

We aren’t doing ME but I have a question. We haven’t been in a few years and in the past a month before the trip we would receive a packet with vouchers for mini golf among other things. Are they still doing that?

If you booked a package you wl receive a magical extra discount card in your magic band box.

Unless you’re travelling internationally......

No magic bands will be mailed out to you. Front desk pick up is our only option.

My ME package has been mailed as long as 4 months out - as soon as our TA made our ME reservation. That one shocked me.

Just want to clarify with the luggage tag part.

There are the DME tags, which are yellow and sticky and come with the DME paperwork.

Then there are the cute harder plastic souvenir tags that you get when you have a package through Disney, and those come in the magicband box on the side of it.

My ME package has been mailed as long as 4 months out - as soon as our TA made our ME reservation. That one shocked me.

They've done that for awhile with some people. I tend to get mine the moment I make the DME arrangements. Others get them later on.

Once I requested additional yellow ME luggage tags. Those arrived immediately (the same week, which was about 4 months before our trip), but I didn't receive the original ones until about 30 days before our trip. I thought it was funny that they sent extra tags when I didn't even have the first ones!

There doesn't seem to be much consistency as to when you receive your DME paperwork. Last year we got ours immediately after our TA called in our flight information - it was probably close to 6 months out. This year, we booked our flights at about the same time out, but we didn't get our DME stuff until about 45 days before our trip.

Your Magic Bands will ship at 30 days before your trip, so you will have them about 25 days before.
