Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

Double dips are working just fine.

Hmmm...

1) They haven't restricted it yet, but will for August
2) They can't restrict it, but don't want people to know they can't and want people to use FP+ as if FP didn't exist
3) :confused3

This info makes me SO HAPPY! Hope it's like this in August!!

Quick question: are you able to double dip while you have FP+ booked, or did you have to use all 3 FP+ before using regular FP?

before we used any.

This is a CM test. The BLT test starting Monday might be a better indicator. But I think it might be option #2. Disney doesn't have to give out the RFID cards though. If someone just has a bracelet...

it is option 2 theyve already stated that and they give the cards as a backup so the August ppl will for sure get cards too.

I could not book another FP selection after using the first one and my DH tried to scan his bracelet again after riding to see if it really locked u out after the first ride and it turns blue not green.

You mean you could not book an additional FP+ reservation after you had used one for the day? So the implication is that it's 3 total FP+ reservations per day, period. Interesting.

Well, that blows. So it's definitely 3 (or 4, with bonus) FP+ selections per day.

Delmar, tomorrow will you try obtaining a regular FP before your first FP+ ride so you can see if that works, too?

Also, thank you for being a test case and reporting back your experiences! I'll buy you a Dole Whip (or other snack of choice) if we're ever there at the same time! :thumbsup2

This won't be popular, I'm sure, but I kind of hope they stop the double dipping! For those of us going in August who aren't part of the testing, I'm thinking it will be even harder to get FPs. There will be all those who did FP+, so that many FPs off the top. And then those people can pull regular FPs along with the rest of us. So a smaller pool of available FPs, with just as many people trying to get them. Does this mean the hard to get ones will run out even earlier in the day?

Absolutely, because the same demand will be on the rides, but a signicant number of people will have already tapped into the FP pool.

It will be FANTASTIC for the testers. I am not one of them.

If I am doing the math right in my head, the only way they will run out earlier is if they dial back the regular FP machines to accommodate the number of FP+s they are giving out. On the flip side, if they didn't dial back the machines, then the lines could get longer on standby and even FP. Whether the testing is big enough to have an effect...I dunno.

I'm going in August too, and while I don't begrudge anyone, I am so annoyed that I am not part of this testing group!

Did your FP+ times affect getting a regular FP at all?

Since the regular FP makes you wait until a certain time before obtaining a new FP, I'm wondering if that plays a role in double dipping at all.

:worship:Thanks for all the info! I am really crossing my fingers that all of this stays the same for August.

You used FP- before you used FP+ or you had to use FP+ before you could use FP-?

I thought it was straight forward...he was able to get a FP- before using any FP+ (especially that early). At this time they do not appear to be connected.

Those FP+ are either coming out of FP pool or Standby.

The other option is to severely limit FP+ during pre selection phase, but I can't see that happening...that would cause the most crankiness: People logging in to prebook and all the popular rides are gone.

In August the number of estimated guest testers is about 20,000 a day ...maybe about 15% of be population? Using normal attendance ratios, that means about 7,000-8,000 guest testers could be in MK for a day and already booked 22000 FP. Peter Pan only has about 7000 FP for the day. Splash Mountain 15000. So it is possible they could be hit hard. If testers get to pull duplicates and regular FP, it gets worse.

This is why I don't think there is any chance of double dipping or scheduling duplicates when this whole thing rolls out. There simply isn't enough FP slots available for headliners. Can you imagine how difficult it will be to get a Peter Pan or Splash when 50,000 people are eligible for FP+? Yikes.
