Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

Well, the bands have the RFID technology to track your movement through the park, so they'll presumably "know" that you're in there. But, since they allow you to come and go as many times as you want in a day, you could always go through the entrance twice (once with band, once with card) to make sure each was "active" that day.:thumbsup2

No way to know, but I bet it doesn't matter which you enter the park with. The RFID in both should tie back to the same admission entitlement, which would show as active in the park.

3. We could access the FP- on days that we choose not to use any FP+ and we can use FP- once we have used all of our FP+ for the day.

Yeah. Disney IT can't activate FP+ in their system only for eligible testers without activating everyone else.

But they can do #3.

I wouldn't count on it.

Wow, if that's accurate, you could kinda screw yourself by having a FP+ for Wishes! or something... can't use FP- at all that day...

Wishes was one of the FP+ that I desired the most and I got it on my last MK day. We have never seen Wishes and I really wanted to get it in this trip. It took me numerous times to try to get it and it FINALLY showed up once, so I did snatch it up.

I was just going to go to the MK just one day of our vacation due to cost, but with this going on I am going to cough up the extra money:headache: and go twice. MK is the most important park to me and I want to try to get as much done and out of it as I can, but with all this sprung on me yesterday, I felt as though I most certainly need two days. Super glad I got a time for Wishes though.

Ok - we have 3 hotel reservations for our upcoming trip. 2 nights at AKL and then 5 nights at Pop on one reservation and then 3 more at Pop on another (cheaper per night rate).

We bought our tix from UCT - 8 day hoppers. We are NOT going to the parks on our AKL days. However, when I logged on to DME today, I had the option to customize 3 MB for each of us - so 12 bands total...good Lord.

Here is my question - do I really want to link my tix to my MB....since I will have to get a THIRD band for the second part of our Pop stay? Can they transfer my tix from one band to another?

I hate this. Just seeing how planned out some of you guys' vacations are - gives me hives. Ick ick ick.

I am willing to test it out next month only to see if going back to WDW will be in the cards for us. If this thing is as big a hassle as I am making it in my head....we will stop visiting.

Thanks for anyone who can answer my question...

Anyone???? I asked my TA from DU and she was stumped, too. I can't call WDW right now - hope I get to later. But just wondering if anyone had any insight in the mean time! Not that I expect the CM's that answer the phone to know, either...they are all over the board with answers!

Of course you can opt out by merely not making any FP+ reservations and not using any. The rub is whether or not you will be locked out of using FP-. I am not sure about that.

Yes, that was my fear. I decided not to opt out, hoping for the best.

I've no idea... I've never resort-hopped, my reservations are only for a single resort..

Seems awful!

I think you need to talk to tech support because your sitaution is complicated. However, you shouldn't need a different band for each leg of your stay...they're supposed to be good for at least three years, so instead of getting a new one each trip, presumably a guest will use the same one for all trips during that three year period. I think there's a glitch in the system for you and ultimately you'll only need one band per person.

Thanks! That is what I was hoping, but when I logged in, my invite asked me to get a separate band for each reseravation...

I will report back after I get word on how this should play out. Thanks!

If you are able to choose FP+ now, before linking tickets, then I wouldn't worry about linking tickets yet.

However, you might not be able to choose FP+ until you've linked a ticket. I'm not sure how that works if you've got a MB but no ticket.

Yeah. Disney IT can't activate FP+ in their system only for eligible testers without activating everyone else.

thats not true. they did it for the previous tests for select AKL/Contemporary or BLT visitors and they are doing it now by only selecting certain resorts.

i think you were misinformed.

we cannot, currently use FP+ b/c there is no ticket linked. :(

I just called, we are booked at POP for end of August and the cm I spoke with said that she is only seeing July test dates, no Aug dates are out. I assume she didnt know what she is talking about. My kids want the magic bands soooo bad. Crossing my fingers!!!

I agree I don't think this is one big screw up at this point. It seems that people were mis informed. Like that has never happened before. When I called IT it is legit. NOt a big mistake.

I think this was sarcasm directed at the fact that MDE was allowing EVERYONE staying at the test resorts during the test timeframe to book FP+. Doing something once is not Disney IT's problem, it's doing them consistently.

Are you talking to a cm or IT ? That makes a difference

Anything to do with MB and FP+ IT for sure.

You do realize what you are saying? Talk to the people responsible for the broken web site, slow application, profile linking issues, etc.?

:) Just kidding. Sorta...
