Just curious what ya'll think about getting the Bands for offsite guests. I'm not convinced the extra cost is worth it; does using a Band make it easier/faster to use FP+ or to enter the parks? Can I link a CC card to my Band?

You can't link a CC to an MB if you're staying off site. Personally, I don't think it's worth it to buy them if you're staying off site; a regular ticket works just fine for entering the parks and using FP+. Although I will concede that it may be more convenient to just hold your wrist up to the reader rather than fish the ticket out of your wallet or pocket.

We just returned from our trip. We were off site guests and I too really debated before going if we should buy the magic bands. While at the parks, we decided to buy magic bands the first morning of our trip. For our family (2 adults, 4 kids), it was money well spent. The magic bands were super convenient to use. Instead of having to pass out the tickets at each ride we FP, the kids were able to use their bands. Also, our family split up a few times, and since Memory Maker was linked to our account, it was very easy to get ride photos. In fact starting our third park day, the ride pictures were automatically linked to our account without needing to have the bands scanned at the end of the ride.

Did you have the option to have Magic Bands for the kids only? Or did they require that all six of you switch from the tickets to the Magic Bands? I can definitely see the convenience factor and would be willing to purchase them for our children. But I don't want to spend the extra money to buy them for myself or DH. (I would rather spend that money on a couple of extra drinks in Epcot. LOL)

we also just returned, and definitely thought it was worth it to have the magic bands.. Way easier than passing out the cards at each stop and put it away etc.. Totally agree with everything you said!

I would think you could only buy for who you wanted to? But have not read anything on that. That is a good question.

You do not have to buy them for the entire party at the same time or even at all. Yes, you can just buy them for the kids.
