Magic Bands for Check in

When I did early check in at 60 days out, it says decline magic bands to go straight to your room when your room is ready, Not sure what that means, If I order magic bands they will be here before we leave for our trip so why does it matter if I order magic bands or not? Another question, we have two resorts booked, All star movies for 1 night and then Pop for 6 nights, Do I need different magic bands to use to open the door and charge on? Or if I bring my old band from home would I Have charging and my tickets on that band?? I am a little confused... thanks for any help..

Old magic bands that are still linked to your MDE account should be usable for any future stay. You don't need new ones if you don't want them.

It's a poorly worded statement to let you know you can bring old bands and not order new ones if you wish.

If you do online check in then you might be able to go directly to your room when it is ready. It doesn't matter whether or not you decline new MagicBands. It is the online check in and having a set of MB's, old or new, that makes you eligible for the direct to room option.

You can customize both sets, only one set or decline both sets. As long as you have a set of MB's, old or new, then your tickets, your charging privileges and your room key will work on all of your bands, even your old set from home.

Ok, Cool, I have a cool Belle Band for myself and got some cool ones for my kids for Christmas that I linked to our account, So these should work for our whole trip!

kind of tacking on here--- I did online check in for Tuesday but didnt decline the bands. I am just going to bring a band I already have. Do I have to go to the desk to link it and use to get in room??? Or any magic band I already have should let me in the room once Im alerted it is ready? thanks

Every active Magic Band will work. If you get your room number texted to you, you'll be able to go to your room.
