Magic bands and split stay including Swan resort

Hi! I'm thinking about doing a split stay between Coronado Springs (first night) and Swan - this will give me a taste of Coronado Springs, allow me to use Magical Express on the way there, and I'm hoping I'll get Magic Bands that work for the duration of my trip.

Am I correct in thinking the Magic Bands will work as my tickets for my entire one-week stay even after I move to the Swan?

Yes. Any linked MB provides the link to all your MDX data - tickets and FPs.

Yes, the Magic Bands will work with any tickets associated with them.

I have a follow up question though in regards to this, can you use the magic bands to purchase things if you switch to the swan? Will it use the CC associated with the account? I know it "room charges" when you are staying on property but wasn't sure how it works if you stay off property.

No, can only charge when staying in a Disney owned resort. You would settle up leaving the Disney resort and no longer have charging privileges when switch to non-Disney hotel.

That was my assumption, I love being able to only use the Magic Bands and not bring my wallet so this weighs on my decision to stay off property.

Apple Pay is accepted wherever credit cards are accepted - depending on if you’ll have an iPhone with you.

You could also carry a Disney gift card. It would have a limit on it, but that isn't always a bad thing.

Your magicband also won't work as a room key at the Swan, like it does at your Disney on-site resort room.

Right, so OP will already have to carry their Swan room key, which is the same size as a credit card or a Disney gift card. While we limit what we bring to the pool, the rest of the time I personally don't mind carrying a few bits of plastic, including emergency cards like ID and insurance.

Before we go to WDW I slim out everything I won't need on vacation out of my wallet, and that helps.

At this point, we kind of make a running joke about which items we won't need: library card, frequent diner reward card, any expired card.

If you have AAA though, you get 10% off at all Swan/Dolphin dining thought if you show it when you dine. You might want to bring that card.
