Magic Bands and ME

Hey guys!

So Disney goofed and sent out ME info to the wrong address for some reason. They are resending it but it may not get here in time. I asked the CM but she wasn't sure- if we have magic bands, isn't our ME info stored on them/can't we use that to check into ME? Will this allow us to skip having to go to the desk? TIA!

You can check in with your Magicbands. They actually scan them three times before you get on the bus. We passed thru the first two without a problem....got stuck at the third ...just another glitch!

When you get to ME, there are CMs there to greet you. They will have you scan your band, then send you on the the bus line or the counter if there is a problem. You scan your band again before being sent to a bus.

My daughter is flying with 2 little children. We are driving. She doesn't want to have to take the MBs with her. She has a stroller and carry ons to manage. She does have vouchers for ME. Can she still get by just using the vouchers?

I would think so. It shouldn't be an issue. There are sure to be lots of people heading to WDW without MBs in the near future. As long as everything is correct with the vouchers, she just has to show them to the CM at the line for the counter...she will then be sent directly to the bus line. I haven't been to the counter in years!!

I'm confused on how putting down carry ons and digging out vouchers is easier than pressing your wrist to a machine? MB are much easier.

My vouchers are in my hand, I put nothing down. I just flip the voucher at the CM, and kept walking. No problem at all. If you don't get a MB in time, it's just not that big a deal, as far as DME goes.

Not everyone is receiving MBs. Just certain people that Disney selects. But be sure to have the hard copy of your ME tickets or the letter you received in your purse. Our MBs were scanned twice upon arrival to get on ME and everything was cool. However, when it came time to ride ME back to the airport, some of us had left our hard copy tickets in our checked luggage, since we were told our MBs would be sufficient. It was a nightmare! The bus driver was very very rude to us and refused to accept the MBs to ride ME back to the airport. Instead of him saying nicely that we could just go back inside the hotel to get the manager to give us a ticket/ boarding pass for the ME, he had people in a panic as to what to do! So at least when you are leaving to return to the airport on ME, DON'T rely on your MBs. We just returned home on October 29, 2013. He was the only rude person in the entire trip we encountered!

Welcome to the DIS Debbie! I was just going to ask if we still needed to have the hard copy with us if we are using the bands. I figured I would have them with me anyways, but this just confirms it. Thanks for the heads up.

Always have that hard copy reservation/voucher with you. It isn't going to take up much room! That way, you shouldn't have any prob,me if the driver isn't up to speed on MB usage yet.

Actually I think everyone staying on Disney property is getting MB's as of October 23 so everyone should be getting them now.

Not sure about everyone getting MBs. We were asked if we would participate in the testing of them. We chose to do so. We did have a few glitches with them on the Fast Passes and were told they are still in the testing phase, but everyone was very kind about it. There were some guests there when we were and I heard them ask for the MB. They were told only if you had been ask to participate in the testing, that you could have them. Our trip was Oct 24 -29, 2013. But they were great to have and use!

All Disney resorts are now being asked to participate in the testing, as are some guests at the Swan and Dolphin.
