Magic bands and credit card security

Not sure where to ask this questions. How do the magic bands work to avoid someone else being able to make purchases on your credit card if you lose it ?

I've never used one, so I'm not an authority; but from what I've read, you also must enter your PIN for any transactions.

You have to enter a PIN when you make purchases.

Nothing's on the band itself. It just talks back to your MDE account. They can deactivate the band if it's lost, just like a credit card can be killed if it's stolen. As others have said, you also have to use a PIN to make charges.

The security pin is four digits. That means a thief has a one in ten thousand chance in getting it correct. Maybe two in ten thousand, if a given retail outlet allows them to try the pin twice.

In other words, losing your credit card is way more scary.

If you lose a band, go and have it deactivated and reissued with a new band. But don't panic.
