Magic band

We are going August 22. When I booked everything the email I got from Disney said I had until August 11 to customize which we did and I got my magic bands already. Should I be concerned about this? Mydisneyexperience has all my fp and reservation info correct but idk. Thanks in advance.

I don't think I'm understanding what the question is? You said you already got your magicbands, right?

I was under the impression they don't ship until the "customize by" date...seems odd you got them already if it says you have until the 11th to customize.

Yeah, because a customizable date of Aug. 11 doesn't make sense for a trip that starts 11 days later. Our trip is only a few days before yours, starting the 19th, and our customize by date was about a month before that.

There have been many reports recently of magic bands being shipped well in advance of the final customization date. I guess once the guests do the customization, the bands can be shipped, and Disney seems to be doing this earlier than they used to.

Leaving a little over 30 days. When will my bands be shipped? I don't recall seeing the "customize by" date as I customized them the minute I planned my trip!! I am dying to get them so I can customize them further with nail polish and bling!!

We have a trip next month and this was our experience. That date effective means that's the date the you lose the ability to customize them and you'll get gray ones when you arrive at the resort. Once you've customized all your bands, Disney views them as ready to ship. Our "Customize By" date was August 1st for a check-in on the 12th.

I had heard that they normally ship them around 30 days before your check-in, but that date came and went for us with no shipment notice. Then I noticed a small "hiccup" in the process. One of our sons wants a gray band. Since that's the default color, I never opened his Magic Band record in order to then simply "save" the default details. Apparently this means that his band had not been "customized" and therefore our order was still "pending". Once I opened the record and then just hit the Save button without making any changes, our order was then completed and shipped the next day.

They won't ship until you customize the bands, and you had until 8/11 to customize them. Once you did, however, they'll want to ship the bands with as much time as possible.

We are arriving the same day as you (August 22) and we received our customized bands in the mail two days ago (Tuesday). Received the e-mail saying they had been shipped on 7/24.
