Magic band question

Hi! I have had an Orange Bird MagicBand for several years that I have never activated. It’s not a MagicBand2. I’d like to activate it for our next trip. What is the difference between MagicBand and MagicBand2? Thanks!

Depending on how old it is, it will still work for anything that requires you to tap in, but probably will not work on rides.
There is a battery in the band that lasts for about 2-3 years that triggers onride sensors. Once the battery is dead, the on ride doesn't work.
It still works for getting into parks, charging, etc.
