Magic band question

Have always heard that magic bands were interchangeable, meaning if you have multiple bands, and they are all linked to MDE, they will work for everything. We have eight sets of different colored magic bands and have never tried to use them as accessories, but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried wearing different bands, other than the ones they have been given for the trip they are currently on. My daughters magic band is not working on our room door. I know I should just go to the front desk to get it fixed, but I really don't want to take and hour out of our day to do that. It is working for park admission, just not as the door key. We tried using some of her old magic bands and they didn't work either. This makes me glad that I have never put on one of my old magic bands and headed off to the park, because I wouldn't be able to get back into my room! Anyone else have any experiences or thoughts about this.

2. Many, many reports of this on these boards.

4. Yup, that might (or might not) take that long.
5. That can happen with ANY MB, even the new current one.
6. That is NOT a "given" situation.
7. Lots (and lots) of glitches have been reported. Some get them fixed. Some don't bother to fix them.

This happened to me while on vacation last month. My band worked in the parks but not to open my room door. It was a glitch that had something to do with having my name on two different room reservations. I brought it to the front (when it was convenient to, since I was easily able to get into my room using someone else's band) and they fixed it in about 5 minutes. I was imagining all sorts of difficulty--losing fast passes, needing to get a new (gray, unpersonalized) band--but that didn't happen. It was no different from needing a room card reset at any other hotel.

On our last trip, I used a different MB every day so yes, they ARE interchangeable. The fact that none of your daughter's MB work on the door probabaly means there is some glitch with her MDE account, not any specific MB.
