Magic Band Question

My wife does not have a magic band because she did not stay on property with us the last time we went to WDW. She stayed at the hotel where her conference was. My daughter and I do have magic bands.

We all have APs.

Question. Can my wife use a friend's old magic band. Can it be wiped clean and my wife's AP be stored on it. The magic band has the other persons name on it. Does that matter?

AP holders can indeed get their band now. You can also buy bands in the park. But order your AP bands instead for free.

If you link her AP to your MDE account, you should have the option to order a magic band.

And all band links to the MDE will also be linked to your APs. So you can switch colors to your hearts content!

I still can't figure out how to get a magic band for my new AP before we leave for our trip. DVC member services says I will have to do that at guest services. So I won't have a magic band for my AP before arrival?

Link your AP in your MDE.

I think the ticket also needs to be activated first before it becomes available. They let me order a band for my expiring ticket but not for my new one that I won't use until October.
