Magic Band package on the way?

I've never been on a cruise before and we're going on a 3-night DCL cruise on Easter weekend. After that we're going to the parks for 5 nights for a Covid postponed first trip to Disney. When I logged on to the DCL website today, there's notification that my magic band package is on the way and it has a tracking number (that still says label created and not shipped). Could someone please shed light on what this package is? I did a basic google and it looks like Magic Bands aren't used on cruise ships? We do have unused Magic Bands from our originally planned April 2020 trip and I'm hoping to use those this time around for our parks trip (hopefully they still work?) Do I also need to plan on using the 2020 magic bands (or these new ones??) on the cruise? Thanks!

That's really weird since DCL doesn't use them and for WDW you have to buy the Magicbands (even solid colors) now before they'll send any.

Editing to add that your 2020 ones should still work.

Did you order MagicBands for your WDW stay? DCL & WDW use the same log on services, so it's possible that notifications might appear on either site.

I suspect that one of the many glitches from the recent Cruise Line website "upgrade" was reopening old messages.

No I didn’t, I was planning on using the ones I received in spring of 2020 (for a trip that didn’t end up taking place)

Oh interesting, so maybe it’s just a glitch? I thought maybe there was a chance that they felt so bad about my canceled trip and were so impressed by my Poly spending that they decided to send me more free ones

No. It was on there before I booked the cruise last week.

on Disney cruise the are The Oceaneer bands and You get them once you register onboard, or in the terminal before boarding, on embarkation day.
