Magic Band group with pre-orders/apple watches/wait til the parks to buy

Reading through all the posts about Magic Bands. So confused. There are 5 of us going--all adults. Two of my kids have Apple Watches and want to do that. This works ok according to what I've read, and they're tech savvy so no issues there. I'm stressing out about not having at least one Magic Band to start the trip with, but should I be worried? Should we just use our phones when we arrive for room doors etc and then buy ones that are cuter/more fun than what's available online? Or should I buy a magic band to start out with something, and let my husband and other son pick one out in the parks? My husband doesn't care one bit, but my youngest will want to get something "cool" and all the bands online are lame/girly.

Thanks for advice. I'm pretty anxious about being all planned out, so just waiting and rolling with it is stressing me out a little bit. So I'm thinking I just order a band for me so at least one of us has a band in the party and then we can roll with it buying others later/using watches and phones.

But if I can be calmed with "don't worry about it you can do what you need to when you get there and pick one out later, it works great" then I'll chill out. Just need someone to tell me that it will all be fine!

You'll be fine. I've used my phone and watch the last several trips and haven't had any issues in the parks. I do also ask for a room key because the watches don't work on the doors and sometimes the phones can be a pain.
