Magic Band/FP+ Help

Looking for some guidance on Magic Bands and using FP+ - so far, my only experience with the new system was a one day trip, and for that I just linked my one day ticket to my online account and reserved my fast passes that same day using the iPhone app.

My situation now is that I booked a room for WDW Marathon weekend through a travel agent. I'll be buying the discounted tickets for the runDisney weekend through another travel agent, but I won't actually get the tickets until I pick them up at the Expo during race weekend.

Since our hotel reservation won't be linked to our park tickets, is it possible to get Magic Bands for FP+? Will I need to buy Magic Bands separately if I want to use them? If I don't want to buy them, can I just link the tickets to my Disney account once I pick them up (and have the ticket numbers), and then reserve my Fastpasses for the trip at that time?

2. MagicBands come free with a WDW resort reservation.
3. If you have a WDW resort reservation, no. Otherwise, if you WANT a MB, then yes.
4. Yes. That situation is true whether you receive or buy a MagicBand or not.
All FP+ reservations are made via your MDE account and are independent of MagicBands.

Our room is on property - one of the All Stars. Will the Magic Bands be mailed to us or will we get them at check in? Since we booked relatively last minute (60 days out), I wasn't sure how or if that impacts receipt of the Magic Bands.
