Magic Band Charging

*** MODS please don't move I already posted this in the giant Magic Bands thread and got no response***

I ordered pre arrival Magic Band+ for our trip. because we are in Canada they will not ship to us and I have been informed we can pick them up at the resort desk upon check in... my questions
1 - do the bands come fully charged?
2 - approx how long does it take to charge from dead and how long does a full charge last?
3- once charged is there an ability to shut them off to conserve battery when we're just hanging out at the resort?
4 - if the charging cord for one breaks or is faulty is there anywhere on Disney property you can buy just a charger?

I lost my magic band on rockin roller and had to buy one so I can answer some of these.

I was told they need to charge overnight to use the + features but it worked out of the box as a regular magic band.

You can turn it off but I left mine on all day and charged at night and never had an issue. If you turn it off I’m not sure if the regulator magic band part works. Someone else may know.

I did not see charging cords for sale but did not look for them but did look at the magic band area at several places before buying mine.

1 - they typically come with a partial charge, enough for a few hours, but probably not a full day
3 - yes, you can turn them off; there's a button on the back that you press and hold until the band flashes red; the band will still work for tapping into the park, tapping in to LL, tapping for photopass when off or dead
4 - yes, you can buy replacement/extra chargers in pretty much any place that sells the bands, I think they are about $8

Agree with above comments. You will fine after the first day since you can charge it while you sleep,

If you have a portable charger bar, that would help that first day and during your trip.

Mine came uncharged. So it’s very iffy. Plus many have issues pairing at first. Question answered. Closing. Please use main thread for MB questions.
