Magic Band Activation

Our magic bands will be sent to us. We will fly into Orlando, pickup the rental car, and then would like to head right to AK. Can we or must we check in to our resort first?

You can head straight to the park.

Complete online check-in for your resort reservation, select the earliest arrival time, and everything will be good to go for you.

If you use on-line check-in, you will NEVER have to go to the check-in desk.

Very true.

Before you arrive in Disney, you'll receive a text/email stating your room is ready. If you get that email/text, you just go to your room and bypass the front desk all together. I received mine on the bus actually heading to wilderness lodge.

Some people don't receive those emails for whatever reason. If you don't get one, you do have to stop at the front desk for your room.

However, your magic bands are ready to go once you get inside Disney. No activation needed to use them (charging/tickets/dining.)
