When does the magic bands have your food credits (for dinning plan), Credit card tied and active and any credit you have placed on your account become active? Do you have to check into your hotel for the these items to become active or do they get "turned on" in the morning of your day of arrival?

I'm interested in this answer as well. According to Disney's site concerning early check in, that the food credits can begin without you physically going to a desk to activate (if you use online check in). Problem is, that you can check in online 60 days in advance... so this didn't make too much sense to me. But also, I do know you can use your tickets (if in a package) up to 10 days prior to your resort check-in date when you use online check in.

We're hoping to go straight to the park for rope drop on our first day and skip the resort desk to maximize time. If there's an issue with credits, I'm planning on just "charging to the room" and then go back to concierge to apply the credits retroactively. I've done this once before in 2011 when I forgot to use DDP for a meal.

1. Correct.
2. Correct.
3. The food credits and "charging to your room" have a "hard start date" (think of it like the date you can actually start using your ROOM at the resort.)
The TICKETS, however, can be used (as you said) up to 10 days before the check-in date.

Were doing something similar, skipping the front desk since i already did online check in and go straight to eat, then parks, then check in that night.

Thanks for this Robo! I have a question regarding this item, does the food credits happen in the morning or is there a certain time this activates?

On your on-line check-in, set the check-in time as a time early in the morning.
(Or even days before your check-in date.)
Then, your food credits will be active as early as you can use them on your scheduled check-in date.
