Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

I will be frantically getting the last minute items and doing the last bit of packing (we are leaving on Friday)...what will you be doing one week from today?

Doogie..........I the the "Richard Petty Driving Experience" at Chicagoland speedway......that was awsome!!! The new vette is awsome........I had mine out yesterday for what looks like one of the final days........it's getting cold and nasty.....talking about the "white stuff" comming soon.

O.K...........may I chime in on what we did last year hear on the "disboards" about a week before we sailed???????? We started signing our "real names" at the end of each post.......this way we kinda had and idea who we were.......Ron

Eddie Murphying in the hot tub..........I'm in!!!!!

We did our "final" walmart cruise stop. (Ya right) We picked up all the doubles.....tooth paste, shaving cream, dramamine for DW, more underwater cameras,..............batteries DON'T FORGET BATTERIES!!!!! Especially for your cameras.........we always bring another battery for our regular camera......it always seems to go dead and we can't find one anywhere. Got the mouse and hairspray...........all you ladies out there DON'T FORGET HAIR TIES if you use them.......Ron

We just found out DS16 has a test on that Friday, so he is having to fly out and meet us that night. Get this though--the plane he has a ressie on is the same plane we catch in New Orleans, so we end up together anyway

We are driving to Indy (about 130 miles south) Thursday after DDs get out of school. We are staying the night and flying out at 8:50 a.m. Then spending one night at BC.
Theresa, it's not that we are organized....it's just that with this "new house thing" that we've had going on for the last 2 months I am out of time.......ordered all the carpet yesterday....244 yards and it is to be installed while we are sailing..........

We're flying out Friday afternoon... into Tampa and spending the night in Orlando and getting up early to drop the car at Avis, get to the terminal and wait... and wait... and meet other DISers!!!

No we haven't started packing. We'll start Sunday Got our own snorkeling equipment this time.

I'm looking forward to eating, running, drinking beer and doing nothing. Willie and Lampy, I'm a really small guy, it doesn't take many beers before I get really happy then want to fall asleep I limit myself so I can stay awake and enjoy the day.

Yesterday, DH bought the luggage rack to pack our bags. This weekend I'll be packing our bags, clean house, check the list and then check it twice.

It's getting very close and I'm ready for that sunshine!!!

Now, when we all find everybody on cruise, lets do group hug

I remembered one more thing we forgot last year.........we purchased those waterproof money/credit card carriers. The last two years I forgot them and had to buy more.....just grabbed it and threw it in the carryone.........Ron

Wow! The last week has gone by quickly! It seems like just yesterday I was telling people in TWO weeks we'll be on vacation...well, duh! It's pretty much upon us!

I've been off line for the last week and have been getting a real kick out or you guys and the posts!

Ron (Lampskies)...you are a real hoot! I think you will keep this group in stiches for the week we on the ship! And hey, as a friend, tell ya what...you can have not only my portion of the Miller beer, but you can also have DH, Eric's, too. Neither of us are big beer drinkers...besides those Fruffy Diva Drinks are sounding better and better! After all, what is a trip to the caribbean without some tropical beverages?

Willie...about the Palo Brunch...I will check in with you as soon as we hit Orlando on Saturday to see if you were able to add our names. If not I will make that mad dash to the ressies table ASAP when we get on board. I am praying that the pixie dust at least falls your way and we can still all get together for this.

Teresa...my goodness are the secrets just coming out of the woodwork...a dare to drink the Drink of the Day everyday? I think I might be right there with you. I've been keeping the glucose levels in the normal...a few in the below normal range for the past week, so I think I will be able to indulge. Like Willie, Eric has this philosophy that there are certain occasions when one is allowed to forego all diet restrictions...holidays, birthday, and vacation. I will try to stay in line, but I know me...I love trying different dishes and was really looking forward to that on the cruise...so I plan to splurge and live a little. I just may have to ignore Ron's slurping straw as I walk by in hopes of looking healthy.

I managed to get those Cruise tshirts printed for our family as well as the door sign, including a 4 X 6 door sign for each of the Turkey Day Gang DIS Board folks who are interested. I printed 30 of them and will bring them along so just let me know you want one. And hey, if 30 isn't enough let me know so I can print some more.

Well, I think all the Wally World shopping is finished, the suitcases are ready to be packed, travelers checks are being taken care of today, Monday I will stop at the post office to hold the mail, and most of the "TO DO" list is done. :thewave:

Now, DS, Nic, has to decide if he will be attending the Junior High Homecoming Dance next Friday... If he does that means he'll be out till 11pm and we have a limo picking us up at 4am. Oh, well, I hate to tell him that he can't go to his first Homecoming dance just so we can sleep a bit...guess that is what the limo, airplane and bus to the terminal are for, right?

Well, I need to actually do some work while I'm here, so I'd better get moving! I will try to check in more often in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to meet you all at the Sailaway Party! Hey, you guys do have bubbles for that don't ya'll?

Well there are still 10 cabins available. I have been enjoying reading all the posts and getting caught up on everything. You guys sure are crazy, I mean that in a nice way.

Almost ready to finish up packing and praying that the kids don't get sick! Wash hands! I told them this morning only 4 days of GERMY school left.

How exciting! We have been planning this trip since March 2004 and it is finally days away. You know it is close when you can get weather for the start of days you will be there.

Woo Hoo.

Laura........I don't believe I've ever seen bubbles at the sailaway party.......although last year it was 52 and windy. Forcast is still a bit overcast but 79 degrees........it was 22 here last night......I can't wait 'till Friday!!!! DD12 Alli is almost packed, DW Kim asked about dining rotations and DD14 Jessica asked about the internet cafe (she is a chip off the old mans block) Ron
