Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

Thanks for checking on GC Lampskies. I don't care where we go :). If we go to CM, we're planning on the ruins tour. Our kids are starting to talk about the cruise. Time will fly...

Me and my DH, DS 9 Winston, DD 5 Anna will be cruising this Thanksgiving. THe children don't know yet. We told them we are taking a cruise but with RCL. DD is upset "No Characters!" on RCL. We are hoping to meet new people who have a great interest in WDW. We go to WDW yearly and this will be our second cruise. Let's share info on how to save $$$$. I love a good bargains especially if it is for WDW.

I love the idea of having a mini meet or something, sounds fun!

HOWDY Babysharknc! And welcome aboard the BEST cruise of the year! I hope you decide to attend some of the DIS Meets we have planned.

I am looking forward to seeing some of those famous stingrays at Grand Cayman! Is anyone else planning on doing Stingray City? Which tour company are you using? I guess most will be back and running by then. Those rays are probably swimming around now wondering where their daily meals are.

Willie

Willie, three of us are doing the sting ray tour with Captain Marvins--the 2 hour one.

in GC, we are leaning towards: Stingray City Sail & Snorkel

& Cozumel: (maybe) Snorkeling at Chankanaab National Park

We've used Captain Marvins before and they were great. This time in GC we are going to use nativeway and also go over to Rum Point. http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/shiptours.html .

On Cozumel... we were going to rent Dune Buggies but have decided to shop and goto Paradise beach. Last time we went on the Fury Catermeran... it was wonderful.

GC isn't much for shopping. There are better bargains in Coz. We load up on "fOakleys" (fake Oakleys) to bring home each year.

Hi! I'm Lisa. My DH Chuck and our DS Mason (age 5) are very excited about joining you on the Thanksgiving Magic Cruise!! We are new to this board and originally posted this message as a new thread. We are HUGE disney fans. My DH and I were married at the WDW wedding pavillion and we are annual passholders. However, this is our first Disney Cruise. Please let us know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!!

To those of you who have cruised before--My DH and I are thinking of going on the Fury Catameran while in Cozumel. Our 5 year old son would not be interested since he is just learning how to swim. What is your opinion about leaving him in the OC while we are in port? Thanks!!

When my my ds12 was 10 we went on the 3 day Wonder. He was bored with Nassau, and begged to go back to the Lab! They had some fun things planned, and he went back to the ship to watch Harry Potter with the group. I think your ds will be fine staying onboard.

Welcome to the new folks and howdy to the old ones!

Still am living in the land of Dead PCs...:badpc: DH finally has time this weekend to look it over...it may be a lost cause...tells us we have a hardware error...:badpc: I am absolutely having withdrawl...luckily today I've got time to stop by DH's office and check in for a quick fix....

I am getting so excited about this cruise...I even dreamed about it recently. DH and DS are getting measured for the tuxes Saturday and all the clothing will be finished. Now, I just have to worry about packing them. AARGH!!!Too many clothes!

Babysharksc, I called and booked my excursions...... as always. Call 877-566-0968 and have your reservation number available. You probably didn't recieve the shore excursion info. if you just booked.

ICEMANPAD,

Welcome to the boards... :)

My daughter doesn't enjoy snorkeling that much. When she was 7 we took the Fury and had a great time. My wife and I traded snorkeling since she (daughter) wanted to stay on the boat. The ride to the reef is about 30 - 40 minutes. I think we had about that much time to snorkel and 1 1/2 hours on the beach. The snorkeling wasn't that great as the reef was pretty deep and they dump everyone off at the same spot. Imagine 70 people jumping in the water... fish don't like that. :) The boat ride and beach was a blast. There were lots of kids.

We had time to shop in the morning before going on the excursion later in the day. (Our kids hate shopping in ports. I think it's good for them to see chickens and goats in the middle of town.)

Thanks for the info doogierunner!! If our ds saw goats and chickens in the middle of a town he would want us to bring them home as pets!!
