Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

Less than 45 days!!

I'd sure like to know if we're going to end up in Gran Cayman or not. Costa Maya sounds nice but doesn't seem to offer the variety the other ports have. I'm not sure what we'll do if we go there. I'd love to go on a ruins tour, but not sure if the rest of the gang would like it.

I echo everyone else's thoughts, underwater cameras are a must as well as over the door shoe holders. Walkie talkies work great.

We ended up purchasing our own snorkel equipment this time. Haven't given a thought about clothes. Normally we hang in VERY casual clothes during the day... swimsuits and/or running shorts and only dress for dinner, then we're back into leisure clothes (shorts and polos) for the rest of the evening.

We allow check out privs to our kids, as long as they follow some rules... always with a friend, we need to know where you're at, no lingering in the halls/stairs and limit the number of visits to scoops to 15 per day :) .

Can't wait to meet you folks.

Take care,
Doogie

OK guys and gals, it is time to get some firm plans on DIS Meets. I have had too many online talks with yall to not get to bore you to death, er, I mean talk to ya in person!

We have the DIS Meet Palo brunch set up for Monday(sea day) at 11:00 AM. Right now we only have 4 couples for that. Anyone that would like to join us can email me your name and cabin number if you know it. Or, when you get on the ship, go to wherever the Palo reservations are being taken, and tell them to put you with the Miller Party.(The Miller Party, that sounds like Lampskies kind of event!)

We also have discussed a meet at the sailaway party. Lamp said deck 10, overlooking the sailaway party is a great location. In the corner where they set up the portable mixed drink bar. I will be there asap wearing a LIME green shirt, and a big smile! :teeth:

Next is the Sunday NFL football in Diversions. After 1st Castaway Cay visit. There will be football all evening. It will be pretty crowded in there, but as a first timer, I don't know if there are games on other places that might not be too crowded?

Also, anyone that would like to join me for an "end of the day" nightcap, or cup of cocoa, I am trying to find a place, maybe one of the bars, that would be good each night around 10:00-10:30. Any suggestions for a location? I think this will be a great way to talk about how the day went!

Post your ideas and thoughts!

This will certainly be the best Magic cruise ever!

Willie

Oh yeah, and I fotgot about the Palo High Tea. But I do not know which day it is set up for?

"I'm so excited...":jumping1:

I thought I was the only one who was starting to get giddy with joy knowing that we are going to be on that big ol' ship next month. :boat: I thought it was just the "first timer" flush.

Cheryl...
Thanks for the belated birthday. It was nice. DS gave me the new Birnbaum's DCL guide...lots of nice color photos, but not as much info as the PassPorters.

Also thanks for the tentative schedule...it does give me something to work with in the planning department.

Doogierunner,
I think you are one of us...casual clothes on vacation. I really like to be comfortable when I'm having fun...don't want to be all gussyed up to relax.

Willie,
Thanks for taking care of the Palo Brunch details and the various DIS meets. I think Deck 10 is a great spot...it's where I'd hoped to be for the sail away party to begin with. I doubt I will miss you in that lime green shirt. I'll let you guys know what we will wear...it might not be decided until a couple of days before. Not sure it we will make it to Diversions with DH not being a sports fan. :chat:

silver7,
Thanks for the High Tea details...I am so excited about my first real high tea...such a girly thing to do...princess:

And for all of your suggestions about DS checking himself in and out of the lab...my mind is more at ease....especially considering he just received info in the mail from the Student Ambassador program and now thinks he's going to Australia and New Zealand by himself next year. Yeah, right! Not wihout his momma!:crazy2:

And hey you guys are really getting me thirsty for some of those nice tropical drinks.:drinking1 and warm weather...here it's been in the thirites in the morning and lower seventies in the afternoon...crazy southern Illinois. So I guess if I got the urge to don that tropical dress, shades, and flip flops and plopped my behind in a lounge chair with a tropical drink (complete with umbrella) I wouldn't seem any crazier.

Oh, about those underwater cameras...do they have strap for you to hang them on your wrist? I bought a cheap underwater camera ($7) at Target which uses regular film, but I'm not sure if it has a strap...gotta check.

Well, I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Waiting on those docs like the rest of you...

WMiller........ Diversions is a PERFECT place to stop and have a cool night cap. At 9:00 p.m. It's adult only and they have some skits some nights and they are gut busting funny!!! As far as palo brunch......DW has 1 rule when we sail.......other than a shore excursion, we make no "plans" while sailing. So, the brunch thing may be a little tough to commit to, but I'll see what I can do.

The Dis meet the last 2 years we did meet on deck 10 the side of the pier, aft. It's lees crowded, there is a small bar up there and you can see all of the stage on deck 9........Diversion was able to have 4 different games on at once and it was NEVER so crowded that we couldn't find a seat with a view of one of the 16 T.V.'s. I never actually looked around to see if there were games anywhere else......I liked Diversions.

Just saw in another thread that the Western sailing before our are recieving thier doc now!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: That means two weeks and we should start recieving ours!!!!!! Then:wave:

Just got confirmed on this Thanksgiving Cruise:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Last minute surprise present to our DD(Allison 11) who broke both of her arms in a playground accident last week. We have our fingers crossed that her casts will come off on schedule the week before the cruise. This will be our 4th cruise and the kids (Allison, James 9, Christopher 7 and Katie 5) are not expecting it at all.

We got extremely lucky as someone gave up connecting Cat 7 rooms (6140/6142) and we jumped on them:jumping1:

Looking forward to meeting all the DISers.

Welcome disneycruising! It was meant to be that you are on our cruise if the right set of rooms "JUST" opened up for you:wave:

EXACTLY 6 MORE WEEKS!!!!!:thewave: :rockband:

First let me say a big hello and welcome to disneycruising...I think you've joined a great group to cruise with...even if I'm a bit biased.

Wow! Is it really exactly 6 weeks? :bitelip: Yikes! I'd better get to some serious packing plans...at the rate I'm going it will be a last minute pack job and I hate that!

I just want to share with you that I may be offline for a few days...our computer did the crash thing last night as DH was working on some music files he's playing with a group at a friend's church.:badpc: It tells us we have a hardware problem and it doesn't recognize our startup disk. DH will try to work on it this weekend if he finds time.
Me, I'm looking for a laptop...I can't deal without a computer. All of my business files are on the dead one and my PDA isn't setup for the billing files. :badpc: I've been contempalting a laptop for a few months, but our shared home computer has been doing fine lately. But the darn thing does get a good workout with the 3 of us...DH and I both use it for business and pleasure...we only have about 10 gig left on the drive. So, a laptop is sounding better now.
I will try to check in here when I get a free minute to use DH's office computer or one of the free labs at the college where I'm interpreting. :rolleyes1

Well, I hope you all have a great Disney weekend! I will be busy with DS...it's homecoming and I'm off to watch him march in the parade now, football game halftime show tonight and the big field show competition tomorrow, music lessons on Sunday in preparation for the Dist. 6 band auditions on Monday. Then I'm still searching for another dress for the cruise...may end up having the seamstress make one for me...easier and less hectic, which is what my life needs. :hyper:

For now, take care ya'll!

Laura ºoº:space:
Maybe these guys will take me away...
