Sailed on the Magic for the third time and had lots of problems this time. First and foremost was the stateroom. We were in room 6556 and the noise was unbearable. After getting the runaround for 4 nights, we were finally offered a onboard credit and a percentage off of a future cruise. Needless to say after 4 nights and days of no sleep and getting the runaround we were not happy. If you or anyone you know is booked in or around rooms 6556 or 6056 please please call the cruise line and get reassigned. The problem is apparantly in the pipes and cannot be fixed unless the ship is docked for an extended amount of time. Will follow up when we hear from the cruise line about compensation for our lack of sleep.

I'm sorry you had such a noisy room...did they move you after the 4th day? not a great way to start your vacation:sad2: I hope you post this on the stateroom reviews too. Thanks for letting us know and hope everything works out for you w/Disney.:)

I forgot where to go to see the list of the noisy staterooms and/or stateroom reports. Can anyone help a fellow DISer out? Thank you! :grouphug:

did not get moved, the ship was full. Where do I go to post about the stateroom.
We are totally disappointed with the answer we are getting shore side from the cruiseline also. Sooo not what we are used to with Disney. We have been DVC members since 2001 and this is really upsetting us. DCL is telling us that by the ship personell putting a 150.00 credit on our account, we accepted that as total compensation. NOT TRUE at all. In fact when we spoke with the guest relations manager who offered the 150.00, we told him no it was not what we were looking for, and it showed up on our bill. He told us that was all he was allowed to offer on the ship and we could talk with someone shore side once we returned home. Has anyone dealt with this issue and is there a phone number we could call. So far we have only emailed because the phone number we called was for reservations and they told us to deal with customer relations via email. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow that really sucks. Someone else (or was it you?) posted about this exact same problem yesterday I believe - warning people about a certain room.

The other poster wrote about 6056. I know she said it also affected 6556. Wow that really stinks. I hope they fix it soon. I can't see them having that terrible noise go on for 3 more months until dry dock. Maybe they will move people out of those rooms and leave them empty for now on.

Just read the stateroom report from 7/05 and they had the same complaint as you did. Interesting.

This is really terrible. We are booked in room 6556 for our March 8th Western in 5 weeks. I had posted on that other thread a couple of days ago, and told my husband about the noise levels. He said that we was going to try to call and see if there was anything we can do to get moved. I told him to wait, but after reading your report I'm going to have him call right away. I'm just concerned because we are so close to our sail date and the cruise is getting close to being sold out.

This is like our dream vacation. We have used tons of DVC points and cash to pay for this trip. I would just hate to have it ruined by not being able to sleep for a week.

Hi, this is Beth....Cabin 6056...
I am glad to see you posted, I have been thinking about you, and was wondering what had happened on your end...

We were offered the same compensation, and have already sent a letter of complaint. If you PM me, I will send you a copy of what we sent.

At no time were we ever told, if we accepted the offer, that would be it. And we never signed anything stating that fact. The room credit turned up on ours on Castaway Day, and a card with a email address was delivered to our cabin.

I already posted a waring about the cabin on the main cruise boards, warning everyone.

I just have a question on this since they are two rooms numbers on opposite sides of the ship, one port side and one starboard side. Were both affected?
What about the inside rooms in between the two sides?

We just got moved to room number 6548. I was so worried I just about made myself sick to my stomach. When my husband called Disney Cruise Line, they did admit that there was a problem with room numbers 6556 and 6056. We did have to change the booking through DVC since that's who we booked through. I just feel much better now. I just hope I don't try to go to 6556 and try to get into it, b/c I had that number stuck in my head for a long time!!!

We stayed in these rooms (us in one, inlaws in the other) 3 years ago and they were great, no noise. You should be certain to keep posting everywhere you can so others know. For how much you paid for these staterooms $150 is a ridiculous amount of compensation, especially when DCL knows of the problem.

Good luck.

I sincerely hope this isn't true. When we talked with Pascal, we were also told that the 150.00 is all he was authorized to offer. At no time was it ever stated to us that if we accepted we had no further course of action. He was very apologetic that the 150 was all DCL was offering us. We stated to him, we were not looking for compensation, all we wanted was for the noise to stop so we could sleep. And obviously the noise never stopped, in fact, it seemed to get worse.
The credit showed up on our account on Friday. By that point i was so tee'd off I didn't care.
I actually gave some poor ratings on our customer survey. I did send a email to DCL asking for someone to call us, and got a email back stating we would receive a postal mail response to our situation in 3-4 weeks.... sigh.....

I was standing outside of room 6056 and was listening to the noise when the floor started vibrating. Scared the living day lights out of me. Thats when Beth said that is what she had to put up with for all them nights. I agree 150.00 is not enough of a compensation.

We had no problems with our rooms on the 2nd floor. We had 2 rooms that was quiet and we had excellant room service too.

Our trip was a complete success even though my daughter was very sea sick. And Palo was very nice to our group and even took care of my daughter with a goodie bag to take to her room since it was a bit rocky up there in Palo.

All in all we had a good time.

Not diminishing your terrible experiences here, but has anyone heard if this is happening with 6056 on the Wonder?

I'm scheduled on the Wonder in this room in Oct 2008.

Should I move now? Or not worry since it's not on the Wonder?

I haven't heard of this happening on the Wonder at all. We were told before our cruise, our room didn't have any problems, its just something that happened.

Isn't the dry dock scheduled after the Mexico cruises this coming summer? At least that's what I thought I heard. That seems like a really long time (and a lot more unhappy cruisers) to have to wait to fix a problem that big.
