Maggots at a restaurant...Would you return? Update

I find it appalling the manager treated it like it was a joke. How unprofessional.

what did the board of health do? i work in the restaraunt business and could not imagine anyone playing a sick joke like that. i also hope your local news station does a follow up story. that is truly disturbing on so many levels.

Where on earth did they get the maggots?!?!?! I'd be afraid to find out!! No, I would never eat there again and I would definitely notify the local news station. I'm sure they'd love to expose something like that!!

I am just trying to picture employees at my store pulling something like that. The fines the health dept. would slap on the owner, would not be something to snicker at. He would go ballistic!

Who has that frame of mind to do something like that and think it is funny?

Several years ago I stopped at a fast food place (major chain) and when I asked for ketchup the girl reached under the counter, grabbed a bunch of ketchup packets and put them in my hand - out fell a very alive roach! I left without touching my food and haven't been back since.

Oh God now I need to figure out who that one is so I can avoid them too!! Any chain that does not take e mail and makes it hard to contact them makes me very nervous!

I have been thinking about this question to and in Colorado only one of the major fast food chains uses the ketchup dispensers the other three do not.

Anyway, at our local "W," I had an issue a few years ago. HALF of a dead roach was in my french fries! I took the box back to counter and showed them, and they said, "Oh, do you want another box?" Actually, no, I want my money back for my meal because no way am I eating here!! Haven't been back.

You can buy them at a fishing bait store. Dh and ds use them as bait all the time. It is so gross!

GROSS! I would have made the Biggest scene! No joke! My poor DH would have had to drag me out and no one working there would have been laughing. I would NEVER return! That is one of the sickest pranks! OMG Just thinking about it makes me fell ill! What would make a manager think customers eating there would find that funny? I really hope they all get fired!

I'll tell you the chain in an update next week. Our local staion is doing an investigation on this and I am to be hearing from corporate headquarters this week. Three males have now been arrested for 'food tampering' thanks to the Health Inspector who took this seriously as opposed to the restaurant. I do know that now they wish they would have handled it differently.

Still will never go back though!!!! Ever again.

Reminds me of the time we saw a cockroach crawling up the wall at our favorite restaurant- The Big Biscuit, so we never went back because of that and every time we passed it, we would say, "I really miss The Big Cockroach".

Fast forward a year and we see they opened another location, and hey, we were back in the Big Biscuit business. Well, my almost 4 year old son has learned from us, and went into our beloved restaurant and said "I don't wanna eat at the Big Cockroach!!!"

It has to be Wendy's-their customer service is only open 8-5 and no contact is listed on the website.

We haven't eaten there since several teammates on our son's baseball team fell ill after eating chicken nuggets.

I think that it's wise not to mention the name of the chain. Corporate hasn't actually done anything wrong (yet!!!) and I think it would be unfair to smear their name just yet. As for them not being open on the weekend, that's pretty normal for corporate America.
