Maggie Smith has died

My mother fell in love with Downton Abbey based on seeing one episode on PBS while channel surfing and based on that one episode Mom wanted the whole Downton Abbey collection and so Dad and I got the whole Downton Abbey collection DVD for Mom for Mother's Day and she loved it but I had no idea Maggie Smith was in it until Mom told me. Isn't The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel series about a bunch of rich elderly people who travel to India and have different adventures at the hotel?. I also didn't spot Maggie Smith in that movie as well. Was she wonderful in those movies?

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is not about rich people but, rather, about elderly people of modest means whose pensions stretch a lot further in India where the cost of living is appreciably lower.

RIP Maggie Smith.

I recently reread the last book in the series and came to love the character Minerva McGonagall even more, and was so comforted that Maggie Smith took on that role in the movies. No one else could have played that character.
