It's been a few years since I have been on it and can't remember. Is it considered scary? I vaguely remember some unfriendly trolls. Talking about a 2 yo.

Thanks!

A 2-year-old might be scared. DD was 3 the first time she rode Maelstrom and covered her eyes for 99% of the ride (she's now 5 and loves it).

Its a relatively slow moving boat ride, I think at one point it goes backwards, maybe down a very shallow incline at a slightly increased speed- nothing that requires anyone to wear a seatbelt.

If a kiddo is really sensitive, they might not like, but overall the ride is pretty mild.

The ride is mild but there are trolls, dark moments etc. This may scare a 2 yo.

Thanks! I don't think my DD will be scared but I think I'll skip it just in case.

Based on the dates you're traveling (saw it in your signature), Maelstrom will no longer even be an option. I'll be at Disney about the same time as you (first day in the parks will be the 17th). Maelstrom is under "refurbishment" starting on August 15th (pretty sure that's the date).
