Day 1 / travel day. 6th Feb 2011

my very 1st trip report.

we got the train to london at 6am, arrived at kings cross just after 7am, headed for a maccys brekkie then made our way to St Pancras (just across the road!). The Eurostar journey was a good one, everyone was excited and had a pleasant train ride, i managed to keep comfortable with painkillers and had the odd stroll up the aisle.

then as we got nearer sophie was shouting "space mountain space mountain!"
dropped the bags at the express counter and headed to the Studios.
I really wanted to eat at Resturant De Stars, but the queues were huge, so we ended up with Burger and chips at en coulisse (sp) which was fine.58 euro's for 4 adult meals and 3 kids meals the 'others' had already gone to check in at their hotel (NY) so we met up with them at TOT and then we basically just wandered around for a bit. checked out toy story playland

then we went to see stitch! and sophie and colette were both chosen by stitch, they loved it. the park was mega busy, i think it was because it was sunday, because it was not busy at all for the rest of the week, (the longest we queued during the week was 25 mins for crush.) The stars and cars parade was on at 3, so we watched this, then had a coffee break. we headed off to the Nex arcade around 6ish as we had promised little jamie he could go bowling, so glad we did as the arcade was closed for the rest of the week!! around 8 we headed off to the Santa fe on the mentally busy shuttle and checked in. we had lovely clean rooms in block 20 rooms 16&18 interconnecting. nice new cars theme , both had flatscreen tv's with a welcome message on them, and one room had a kettle. they were very clean and nicely done, have no complaints at all. we unpacked and decided to have an early night as we had breakfast slots for 7am all week so we could do EMH. Took some painkillers and then the lights were out.....

Day 2
started with Breakfast in the hotel, the usual stuff, suprisingly busy for 7am but we managed to get seated and eat etc, with no problems. My MIL decided to start making sandwiches and put rolls etc in food bags, one of the staff members told her off and said food was to be consumed in the resturant!! haha, she was proper emarrassed lol.
we got the shuttle about 7.50 and went straight to Disneyland Parc.
first stop Buzz lightyear, i got a record score of 446,700 i was very pleased with myself! Jamie absolutley loves this ride, so Viv, Maureen Lenox and Jamie rode it a few times while me phil colette and sophie went to space mountain. This was Sophie's first ever time, and she thoght it was 'awesome' it was great, but my head was banging all over the place and i ended up with a headache, the harness over the shoulders was really uncomfortable too, as it pressed on my chest, which ws still sore, but y'know, gotta do it for the kids... we went to fantasyland and did all the kiddie rides, viv missed the boat for iasw, she wasn't impressed!! haha.. A first for us was the maze, it was really fun and we got lost a few times, then we had a quick flask/coffee break near Dumbo and waited for the evans family to arrive.

when they got here we headed to pirates, a first for us also, everyone rode and thought it was good, and when we got off a very nice jack sparrow was waiting at the photo point..bonus, as we posed for pictures he was very funny telling jokes and really getting into the character.

next up..indiana jones..ooh, another first!. gosh, this TR is gonna be a long one!!! everyone rode indiana jones except kelly, the two oldies and the boys (scaredy cats!) it was amazing, i really enjoyed it, i didn't care how much my chest was hurting, i just wanted to screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmm

we were hungry after this so we headed over to the studios for a chance to eat at remmy's place, it wasn't busy and we really enjoyed the meal, unfortunatley we only got a glimpse of remmy, as we were being seated and he never came out again, but the food was delicious!!

we met up with the evans family again and a few of us went on TOT. then to toy story land. Jamie rode slinky dog a zillion times while the other kids did parachute drop and RC. we saw cinemagique and stitch! again then did the carpets and cars, oh my, those cars spin fast!!! around 6pm, we headed to the Nex to give Jamie his bowling fix, only to discover it was closed all week, OMG, talk about tantrum!! we comprimised with him by buying him a cars skittle set (18 euro's) and went back to the hotel. had a few beers in the room, ate some pot noodles and snacks, game of cards..bed. Phew.

Tuesday 8th Feb. Day 3.
for the first tme we did character dining, Cafe Mickey breakfast, we were booked at 8am, and we loved it. Viv and Maureen didn't join us, which was kinda nice, we had some proper family time. characters were mickey, goofy, pluto, mr smee,gepetto(?) and winnie the pooh's rabbit.

Breakfast was all the hotel usuals, but with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries,youghurts, fresh fruit and cereal, juice and hot drinks,crepes, toast breads etc. It was very Nice. Another 1st for us was autographs, so the kids were in their element here, getting autographs and pictures!

After a great start to the morning we headed of to catch the last hour of EMH, straight to Buzz, and space mountain,
Phil had created an Itinery for this day, which we all thought ws quite amusing, but we went with it and actually turned out to be quite good. We were instructed to spend the day in the studios, so off we went. first thing was the animation thingy, we had never done that before and thought it was great, after that was suppossed to be crush, but it was closed so we did the carpets then made our way to moteurs action stunt show, where we were to meet up with the Evans family. The show as usual was awesome!!
after that it was a quick loo /coffee break then everyone did rock n roller coaster, well not kelly,liam, jamie or the 2 oldies!! when we got off the best ride ever, poor jamie was crying , and bleeding from his nose.

it seems he and liam were chasing eachother (on a wet floor) whilst under the supervision of 3 adults, and jamie 'just fell' , it was obvious that he broke his nose bless him, a cheeky monkey plaster and some calpol soon put him right, then we took him to see stitch.again! Sophie and Lucy were picked out this time, stitch is so cool!!! we then went to Cinemagic and then it was lunch at Mcdonalds,
it was pleasantly suprising and quite reasonable in price 38 euros for 4 adult meals and 3 happy meals, and you can get beer as your drink
after that it was back to the studios for TOT,
more rock n roller coaster, toy story land, some more meet and greets and animagique.

we then headed off to annettes diner, we absolutley love this place, jamie made his own version of the stunt show with the menu cars!! the food was delicious and i think it was about 85 euros for 3 adult and 3 kids meals. yum yum. we ate from the set menu of a classic dish a dessert and a drink

we were stuffed and tired so a quick look around the shop then back to the hotel for baths and bed......

coming up the best day of my life..well my best Disney day anyway!!!

sorry for the delay, just done 4 12 hour nightshifts in a row!!!! ouch!! here's the next part..

Day 4, wed 9th feb.

usual breakfast and EMH routine, then we made our way to BTM. It was closed, so we headed to take a look at wooodys round up village and then watched Mickey's winter wonderland show we really enjoyed this and little Jamie was mesmorised by it!!

after the show we had a quick coffee break outside cowboy cookout, we then saw the flyer for the tea party, we said to the kids we'd think about it. we then wanted to head to the haunted mansion, as we hadn't done it before, on our way, we discovered thunder mountain was open, the queue was about 30 mins long, but we had a secret weapon..VIP fast passes!! Kelly had seen a mouse in the HNY bar, and one in the lobby!! she complained and they gave her VIP fast passes for 4, she told them that she was actually travelling in a group of 12, so they issued 12 no problem!! they also recieved credit for the bar and complimentary room service for the rest of their stay!!! so ataying in the HNY actually doesn't warrant that it's better, the santa fe was fine for us and we didnt see any mice! lol: thumbsup2 so off we went to BTM, straight on, jamie absolutely loved it!! i couldn't believe that he wanted to go on'the fast mountain train' but he did, and he did again, and again and again!!!!

then to the haunted mansion which was quite entertaining.
we then went to see the showtime spectacular infront of the castle, the kids loved it as they got loads of autographs and interaction with the characters. The evans family left us at this point and we arranged to meet them in Mcdonalds later on in the day.

after this we went to see the dragon under the castle, then went to see Star wars and Captain EO..OMG death by Michael jackson!! i was sooo bored before we got to see it,with the stupid pre show rubbish, i had lost interest when it came on!! the 3 effects were pretty good though, Jamie was ducking out of the way of the meteor shower!! off we went to mcdonalds, but on the way decided to stop in at city hall and book the tea party!!
after a snack at Maccy's we had a stroll around the village then made our way to cowboy cookout. the Evans walked with us but weren't coming to the tea party, The characters were outside about half an hour before the party started, it was great, they were being very silly and the kids were in hysterics!!!

after all this commotion we said goodbye to the others ( who's kids were not happy that they weren't coming!!) and went inside.
we paid on entry and then were shown to our seats, offered drinks and the told we could help ourselves to the sweet buffet. i was in heaven, cakes, crepes, pastries, sweeties, flan, fruit...mmmmmmmmmmm


the characters were very friendly and entertaining, there was a country music band playing and everyone was up on the dance floor!! it was a great 2 hours, and i was so happy to see the kids having so much fun, it really was the highlight of our trip for me.

my photo's didn't turn out too great sorry we met baloo, woody jessie, mickey, timon and goofy.

it was a great way to end the day in the park, and so off we went bouncing with joy!! we went to the sports bar in the village for a drink and then took the kids ice skating! we didn't skate but the kids did, none of them had ever done it before, it was hilarious hahaha

after a browse and buy in the shops we headed back to the mouse free santa fe, and as the kids fell asleep, we started packing...............

what a lovely TR .
I'm loving the look of the Tea party. we are going to try this for the first time on our next trip in July. i'm so glad Jessie is there dd loves her. i think mum is more excited about the sweet buffet .
