We made out ADR's this morning and we were able to get everything we wished for :) But I have a few questions...

We are traveling with our baby to celebrate her first birthday... so all of our plans are focused on celebrating her birthday.

Meal 1 - Breakfast at H&V (not Brown and Derby :) with Playhouse Disney - Any opinions on this breakfast - the only thing I have really seen so far is that it is loud - but are the characters around enough so we can see JoJo and Goliath (who we all love)? I am hoping the food is ok - but really we wanted to see JoJo more than anything.

Meal 2 - Dinner for 13 at O'hana's - Has anyone been there with such a large group - will we all be seated together (see meal 3) - We plan to order a cake for this dinner. I have looked at the birthday cake thread. The couple of cakes I noticed from the poly look great - any recommendations on when I should call to order the cake (we are not traveling till May 08.)

Meal 3 - Lunch at CRT - this is where i have most of my questions. Has anyone been there with a group larger than 5? We have 7 including the baby - so they made me choose either 4 and 3 seating or 5 and 2 seating. So we went with the 5/2 b/c the best situation is the baby, me and DH, and my parents together - then our two friends at the other table - butdo they try and put both groups close together? Or could we end up at seperate places in the restaurant? Second question, in the write ups they mention a photo package taken when you walk in. Can someone let me know how much that package is to purchase - so that I can plan that price into the budget. I didn't see a rate listed where I was looking. Lastly, (on CRT), my DH is a picky eater - so we are really spending $30+ on him to see the baby be in the castle - not for him to eat anything. Will they let my DH order off the kids menu with the understanding we will pay the adult price? It not I will be paying for him to have the foccacia sandwhich and eat only the meat - not even the bread :)

Meal 4 - Chef Mickey's - I don't really have any questions on this one - I just assume it is loud and fun... really all I was looking for was fun for Abbie's official 1st birthday dinner :)

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreacited.

Thanks
Laura

RE: Meal 1 - I thought Playhouse Disney was at Hollywood & Vine; you said your ADRs were at Brown Derby. Are you sure about this?
Meal 2 - Have never eaten there. Can't help/\.
Meal 3 - CRT; in my past experience, I have sometimes had to make ADRs at separate tables, but almost always, when we checked in, we were seated together. Regarding your picky DH - I'm sure he can order from whatever menu he prefers, but will still be charged the adult price regardless. Hope this helps a little.

any recommendations on when I should call to order the cake (we are not traveling till May 08.)
Thanks
Laura

About 2 weeks prior to your trip.

(This past May I had preordered a b-day cake for my DMIL. This summer I preordered one for DD's 13th b-day).

At O'hana's they will just push tables together to accomodate your crowd.

Chef Mickey's will be lots of fun with the characters. We had a group of 43 one time. They put us in a room right off the main dining area.

As a party of nine, we were seated together at one table at CRT. :upsidedow

Meal #1- The usual buffet breakfast food. Nothing to write home about, but not bad.

JoJo and Goliath are there. They have 2 people who come out and sing and dance every so often with the kids. Perky people. Very nice. My little ones were too shy to go up and dance, but they still liked the "show."

When is your ADR? We always try for the first time in the morning. The restaurant is pretty empty and you get more time with the characters.

We did this twice in October...my kids love it and DH wanted some Mickey waffles, so we made a last minute ADR for opening. We ended up being the first ones seated and our waitress made a kind of big deal about it, the other servers clapped when we walked in (the kids LOVED IT, DH was mortified  ), and they gave us a little magical moment certificate.

The staff there is really friendly too. This one takes some beatings on here, but we like it alot. My kids adore the Einsteins and JoJo and they have yogurt, so this is their favorite meal. :goodvibes
