Basically the title. It has been over 24 hours and outside of the automated, generic, we received your offer email, I have not been contacted by the agent. Is this normal? The company is not one of the approved links so I think I'm not able to mention them by name, is that right? If that is right, how do I ask other's for their feedback or experience working with them? I purchased a resale contract last year through a different company whose link is also not permitted, and the communication was exceptional right from the start (frequent, fast and proactive) so that is all I have to go on for comparison.

How reasonable was your offer?

It's been a point of contention over the years on these boards, but if you were lowballing you may not get a response if the seller isn't willing to negotiate with a too-low starting offer.

I offered $20 ppt less than asking for a stripped contract that has been sitting for a bit. Loaded contracts for same UY / Point Range are for sale at the same asking price as the stripped so it seemed like a good opening offer. I'll move on to the loaded contracts if they are rejecting my offer with no counter. Just surprised at the lack of communication. When I was buying my first contract, I know now my first offers were too low but at least I received a response from the agent letting me know.

Make a phone call to the broker to follow up.

Ack, apparently I'm technically challenged and failed at quoting here... Just ignore this. :)

First, feel free to post the broker by the website name - if not allowed, your post remains, but Disboards just hides the website address.

I always submit the offer on the site, then call to discuss.

Some listings indicate the Seller will not respond to less than full price, you can still offer on those but they likely have either a stubborn Seller or lazy Broker - either way $20 low is not going to get much response with those.

Just to add, though that if a website is blocked out, then no discussion about them can be shared.

That’s why it’s good to test the link first.

Wow. That's sadly far more restrictive than I believed. So I guess for some stuff we still need to go to Reddit and Facebook. I thought people were being facetious when they said that :(

The owners of the board make decisions on what is filtered and the reasons are not something any of us know, including the mods.

If someone is sharing specific details of an experience, its pretty easy sometimes to figure out who they are talking about which would then defeat the purpose of the filter.

I realize that it makes some conversations here impossible...and why we always recommend to test the link first!

Yes, some conversations need to happen elsewhere. Reddit seems to be the best (or any D.V.C/Disney specific forum), unless you find the specific group on FB that is perfect for the info you’re looking for. The problem with most FB groups is that they are run by travel agents so they have a lot of the same type of censoring.

I find the facebook groups highly restrictive and not knowledgeable. Reddit doesn’t have a very active community but seems to lack the same restrictions. This community is nice and big and VERY knowledgeable, but there are some restrictions unfortunately.

Yes there is no question this is the most active and informative for most things Disney & D.V.C, but when we’re talking about things that aren’t allowed, you have to find something.
