My 60 day window opened today and I was able to make the FP+ ressies for my party of 6. I have to say, I have been anticipating/dreading this day for some time after reading about how glitchy the FP+ ressie system has been. I am relieved to report that the site worked well for me. I was glad I already knew and anticipated the stupid way it pre-selects times for you instead of letting you pick them from the outset. I didn't have any problems moving the times around afterward. It is a little annoying that for the most part I could only pick times on the hour or half-hour. I would have liked to have had more options on the :15 but, again, I was glad to already have the heads' up about this from these boards, and I understand that even having offerings on the half-hour is an improvement, so I was at least grateful for that. For the most part, I made ressies on the same attraction at the same times for my whole party, which made the booking experience easier. I did split our party onto separate attractions for one FP+ on one day, however, and that worked fine with no glitches. Thanks to everyone for keeping each other posted about how this system works. It sounds like the FP+ ressie system has improved a lot over when it debuted. :cheer2:

OK, Just a quick question.
Since it does not let you pick times, and it is a predetermined, when do you change those time? I has been crazy going through all the threads about it. Figured since this is a fresh thread I would ask you. :-) There are only 4 of us, so that is a bonus!

I changed the times immediately after I initially booked them.

So, first, I picked the three attractions I wanted. It asked me to "prioritize" them, which I just ignored. Maybe that serves a purpose if you are booking close to your trip and there aren't a lot of times available anymore, but I don't think it matters if you are booking at 60 days.

Then it gives you 4 sets of "Options," none of which are likely to resemble what you actually want to do. Pick an Option where the times are the most inconvenient for you. This may be counter-intuitive, but the reason is that I understand it won't let you overlap FP+ times so, for example, if it wants to give you Splash at 10am and Space at 2pm, and coincidentally you want those attractions, but at opposite times, you don't want to pick that option because, if you do, then when you go to change Space to 10am, it won't let you because you already have a ressie at that time. You would still be able to change it around, but it would take you more steps. So you are better off choosing a different option, like one where Splash is at 6pm and Space is at 8pm because then it will be easier to change them to the times you want once you get to that step.

So, after you've chosen an inconvenient set of options and it congratulates you for booking them, there is a button that I can't remember exactly what it says, but it is very obvious, like "Modify this FP+ Option." Click that button and it takes you to a screen that is actually helpful. For each of your FP+ options for that day, you can use a drop-down menu to select the timeframe you actually want. Most of the options are on the hour or half hour. Sometimes there was something on the :15 or :20, but for me that was very rare. I was able to change all 3 for the day at once and it was easy.

The same screen also gives you the option to change the time for only a portion of your party, and you get to pick which people you want to change. So, in the once case where I split my party, I had originally booked us all for Space at a time I didn't want, 10am. However, DS4 is too short to ride. So I selected 3 of my party and changed the time to 5pm, the time I really did want. Then I had 3 of us on Space at 10am and 3 of us on Space at 5pm. So then I went to modify the Space at 10am selection. There is a button to Change the Attraction, so I changed it to Tomorrowland Speedway. Then I changed the time to 5pm. Ultimately, I now have 3 of us on Space at 5pm and 3 of us on Tomorrowland Speedway at 5pm. It sounds complicated, but it was really much easier than I expected.

Good luck!

This is very helpful, thanks. Did you already have ADRs before selecting FP+? If so, is it true you were restricted in when you scheduled FP+? (specifically when you moved them to what you wanted)

You're welcome! I did already have my ADRs. I am not really sure whether I was restricted from overlapping my ADRs and FP+ because I consciously tried not to cut any too close. I know it let me do a FP+ window that closes just prior to one of my lunch ADRs (i.e., my Tower of Terror timeslot is 12-1pm and I have a lunch ressie at 1:15pm). I do not know how close they let you book a FP+ *after* an ADR. Again, I consciously tried not to book them close because if we don't get in right away to our ADR, I don't want to miss a FP+ window.

I booked ours today too. It was not as awful as I was expecting. I'll have to see how it goes whenever we get there.

As for times overlapping with ADRs, it would allow me to book a FP+ where the start time overlapped. For example, I have an ADR at Mama Melrose for 5:55 and was allowed to book a FP+ for Star Tours from 5:30 to 6:30. I figured since they were geographically close we would go to Star Tours at 5:30 and use the FP+ and then head over to Streets of America... not that you used to need a FP for Star Tours.

Thanks for the information. I haven't as yet paid much attention to the how to's about selecting and changing the times as I have about 6 weeks to go before I can book mine and figured the system may change before my turn rolls around.

I didn't realize it was going to be this fiddly though. Why in the world could they not have a system more like the ADR's where you can select your attraction and then pick the time without having to do everything twice?! :confused3

Anyway, I learned something today by opening this thread :)

were you able to change it to this time or was this a system-defaulted time that you just retained?

We can make our in 8 days. Any one know how to add a FP+ for the new 3:00 pm parade at MK?

All parades and fireworks FP+ will show up around 30-45 days before. So just book what shows up now and keep watch for them to become available.

I made a change to one of my FP+ times today so that it overlapped with my ADR.

We are about 55 days out and still cannot see any FP+ times for Wishes or the MEP. I was able to use one of my ADRs at Epcot for Illuminations.

It was pretty easy, but I'll say what I didn't like was not having the option of getting a FP for Test Track and Soarin on the same day . . .just found that a bit odd . . .well, along with the Maelstrom as being up there with the headliners . . .:rotfl2:

Thanks so much for the example of splitting your party. I will be doing the same with ETWB and Space Mtn.:thumbsup2

I made my fast pass reservations today and was disappointed that we could not make them for during the extra magic hours... At least I couldn't. They go till the end of the normal park day and not in emh between 10-12pm or 1am for mk. Very disappointed cu many people stay for emh and I feel like that is when u need them too.

Honestly, if I feel I need FP for EMH I'm out of there. The point of EMH is that you should be able to get more done with lower crowds so you may have spared yourself wasting your FP. Rather book them for when everyone is at the parks, not just the resort guests. THey have more value to you then. Honest :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing! :)

We made our ADRs (first trip) a couple of weeks ago, and I was expecting a nightmare... yet it was really simple! I'm hoping that when our FP+ window opens, it'll be just as simple as it was for you! :)

Your instructions are very helpful too! :)

SUPER EASY!!! I did mine today too! yes you have to pick the preselected times and then go back in to change to the times you want - was a bit of a pain - but I have ours all booked and ready!!! all but one day our party is all the same (party of 3) and should work out great - I don't love the teiring system so I don't have FP for all I wanted and one ride I am not sure I really need a FP for and I did a FP for ToT and not sure my DD will want to do it so I am happy you can make changes :)

Pretty sure you weren't able to get traditional paper fastpasses during EMH either - can anyone confirm?

LuvOfDisney, we're going to be there at the same time!

I booked mine today and had no problems. One thing I didn't like was that I didn't have any options on the :15, which someone else mentioned. Not a big deal, but slightly annoying.

I also thought it was weird that for AK there were only two FP's that I wanted, but it gave me a third anyway. I find this odd b/c we are definitely not going to use. It just seems a waste to me. Why take up someone else's spot when I really don't need it? Seems they should just let you do only 1 or 2 if that's all you want and need.

I made ours last week. I found the site to be easy to use, but greatly annoying to have to go back in and change the times for every single FP+.

I agree that it should be set up more like the ADR systems that lets you pick your time in the first place instead of having to go through a multi-step process with the same result.
